Any other day of the year i'd strongly disagreed with Jeffs choice of picture on this one, but like the great NYC punk legend Brutal Truth said 17 years ago : Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses. Go out an hunt him down, D!!
Ahhh...I love the smell of mangled bengal in the mornin' time!!!
I usually dont wish any physical harm on people, but I want Benson to be carted off the field on a stretcher!!!
The tweeting between Chad Ochocinco and our guys have made this week kinda fun..
but play times over...Peanut, SHUT HIS ASS UP!
not sure which jersey I'm gonna wear guys...
Home-Forte, Away-Briggs, Alternate-Hester, Home-Hester(throwback) or Home-Payton(throwback)
any input guys?
BEAR THE FUCK DOWN....RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE!!!
Ochocinco is one of the most entertaining players in the sport. Much like Deon - so over the top sometimes you *know* he's not serious. So it's all good.
That being said were he to catch no passes - or better catch two and get stripped twice - my feelings would not be in any way hurt.
Stream-links usually won't show up until shortly before kickoff or even a couple of minutes into the games, but i'm pretty sure we'll find one. This football-starving Kraut will keep you updated...
only Brett Favre can underthrow a 3rd and 12 pass and be complimented by the announcer that "he probably feels really confident knowing that the Steelers pressure didn't get to him". Ummm...WTF?
Brett is not going to make it out of this game in one piece. Harrison and Woodley don't fall for bootleg fakes like Gune and Anderson...Favre almost died just now.
not loving the playcalling so far boys and girls. and then i'd like to see us not fuck up the punt and give them the ball on the 20. just stay on the field and knock the punt down. WTF
I'm afraid we are going to see how bad this team really is today. The defense is pathetic. The offense can't carry us. If Benson gets 150 yds I'll shoot myself. The clown on TV just said how comfortable Benson was with himself. Touchy feely shit no less. I'm vomiting every time he gets the ball.
1st drive 77 yards. 2nd drive 80 yards. Benson averaging 9.3 yards a carry. safeties 25 yards off the ball. dline getting abused. Hillenmeyer is a fucking pussy. my last post of the day.
I think we are just that bad. Every player I've watched is getting blown out. Roach is getting run over on every play. Bengals are averaging 10 yds per play!!!!!!!
Bengals are pumped and Bears are flat. Plain fucking flat.
And now the offense..............ain't hot either.
This is ugly and painful to watch. At least I got to see Brett Favre and the Vikings get beat today but with the way the Bears are playing it means shit right now.
put 8 guys in the box LOVIE... we have to stop this run... But our inconsistent secondary will get killed... oh wait thats already been happening...LMFAO
The Bears offense has to keep the Bengals O off the field otherwise they are going to put up 40+ points easily. Finally get the offense moving and a turnover.
So far, there's not a single player in Navy & White who's earning his paycheck today. Cutler's coming closest, but it's still pretty disgusting. Hey, look! There's the Benson we know--diving to the ground.
I don't know what to be angriest at: Lovie for not adjusting after the FIRST TWO TOUCHDOWNS, the D-line's inability to even get NEAR Palmer, or the Cover-2 in general.
I was just thinking that same thing. Is it possible we could get beat down by the damn Browns?? I would have to say yes. I mean just look at this pathetic bullshit.
THe Bears defense is utterly pathetic. Lovie has that stupid, clueless look on his face as usual. Please, please, please fire Angelo and Lovie after this season. I am amazed considering the number of defensive draft picks the Bears stock up on each draft that they are this terrible. No passion and no inteisity!
Bengals should start 2nd string in the 2nd half....This hurts bad... my nextdoor neighbor came out his house screaming... He is now cutting his grass!!!!!
Thanks God for Captain Morgan. This is rough...I'm sorry to say, I have been a Lovie backer, this wreakes to me that this LOSS starts there. CLEAN HOUSE...THIS IS AN EMBARASSMENT. THIS IS NOT AN EMOTIONALLY CHARGED STATEMENT.
I can't believe that the only thing that keeps me goin thru the week is that knowin thst on sunday ill get to see "my" bears play...and then i get this....wow
its okay though, cuz Omiyale is doin a terrific job, isnt he lovie, you piece of shit....
and there's nothing to worry about cuz at the end of the day these stupid motherfuckers get their paychecks.....who needs heart and pride when you got 7+ figures....it's gettin kinda hard to love something that doesnt love you back.....am I packin it in as a bears fan?? NEVER.....but let's just say it aint gettin any fuckin easier, ill tell you that.....
i always feel like we can come back in any game but the D is getting shredded. Cutty will have a good 2nd half and you will see a historic post game interview.
Interesting view of Tillman on the sideline. He was talking to one of the coaches and it sure appeared he was pissed about the way the coverage was being called.
Again...THE D-BACKS ARE PLAYING PISS POOR,,,, >BUT<..THE ZONE SCHEME IS LEAVING THE RECEIVERS OPEN!!!!!!! And not just one receiver...Palmer has his pick of two or more on every play. Lovie might blame it on the lack of pressure up front which isn't great but Palmer isn't using any time or needing time to throw the receivers are so open.
The officials did a horrid job on that spot. Even though the Bears benefit by the charity, I think it's not even close, and those officials should be ashamed. The Bears don't deserve that sort of charity.
It will be interesting to see how the Bears respond. Cutler is either going to have 4 interceptions or 4 touchdown passes by the end of the game. It is these types of games that have to occur to force some changes.
I am not giving up on Forte it is way too early to do that after the performance he had last year.
Omiyale is so fucking bad i can't stand it. Beekman is not bad. Just because he makes 3.7 million dollars a year less than Frank doesn't mean he shouldn't get a shot.
ok....we have a lot of things to address next week:
1) stop fuckin' w/ this cover 2. i like waffle's idea of the tampa 2 mixed in w/ it
2) not only does omiyale need to be benched, but send him his papers
3) orlando pace doesn't have it anymore. period. cutler is getting killed out there (looks like a Kansas City game)
4) we don't need a sensible coach...we need a guy that's going to get into the player's asses (where's Da Coach at)
I can't remember the last time I had to turn a Bears game off when they were playing so pathetic but this is very hard to watch. It is hard to find a single thing that they have done right.
This is the worst effort I can remember. It could easily be 42 to zip before it's over. The "good" might be a new defensive coordinator....someday. Watching the d'backs....yes they are playing poorly but the defensive scheme is leaving the middle wide open. As they move to cover their areas in the cover who zone the recievers have 5 yds open in any direction. Oh yeah....how many sacks do we have Lovie? Where is Gaines Adams?
The Bears are playing embarrassingly bad after the bye. I believe they need to play out this year and then fire Lovie and all his coaches and bring in a new set of coachs. Jeff Fisher might be an option.
0 sacks. It all starts there. Oh yeah and maybe we start rethinking the whole "Matt Forte is the future of the Bears" thing. Lately he's got the look of someone who's in street clothes in three years.
one last post-
this is a wake up call that the Tampa 2 can be beat by any team. That defense was revolutionary...about 9 years ago. They made that pickoff because their safeties don't play 26 yards off the ball. you can play the cover 2 without making it a motherfucking prevent defense. we play our corners and safeties like a prevent and this is what happens.
Bottom-line, the Bears do not have the talent on either the defensive or offensive line. Angelo has ignored the O-line with the exception of pick-up a few free agents. Our front four on the D-line are not getting it done. Of course, Lovie's goddamn Cover No-One defense doesn't help. Its a decent scheme of you have the right personnel, just like you need to right personnel for the 46, but we don't have the studs on the defensive side of the ball to be effective with the Cover 2. Goddamn, please fire Lovie "clueless" Smith!
#87 was blocking downfield before the ball was thrown. Not like the Bears would've kept 'em out of the endzone on that series, but it'd be nice if the officials would throw a flag for such an obvious penalty.
after the mental letdown last week, this is what we return with? The guys are not motivated and the play calling is ancient... Defense is out matched, corners are getting abused...... I'm over it...
I was at Hooter's with some friends watching the game, but I left out and didn't pay the bill. The positive is the Vikings lost and if the Packers win next week then we will be three games back with still two to play against the Vikings!
There's another TD - Cedric this time. At this point I want the Bengals to run up the score and totally humiliate Lovie and the defense. It shouldn't be too hard unless the Bengals hold back.
I think that's the only way we will get any change.
I saw Adrian Peterson run over someone today. Just drop his helmut and blow someone away. Why can't any of the Bears do that? Let's see some passion. These players need to step on the field on both offense and defense and want to hurt people. For chriss sakes!
Hurts to say it but... What a day for the much-maligned Cedric Benson, embarrassing the team and the city that hated him from day one...
How many of us still believe without a doubt that Matt Forte is a better back? Last year, it seemed unquestionable. This year, it seems laughable. Benson leads the league in rushing. Forte is averaging what, 37 yards a game? And it must feel good for him to stick it to the defensive unit that has given him so much crap over the years. Ugh...
All hatred aside, Benson looks like a different back he is a lot faster and runs a lot harder. He does have better blocking but he looks like a different player.
A totally different player. Maybe like the one we thought we drafted. The question is why did it play out like this? He is playing with fire rather than half effort.
The players MUST believe in what they are doing too. Yes. That comes back to the same place too. Look at them and tell me; do they look like they believe in the system.

And yeah, I don't normally get too worked up about Lovie and his stoneface, but when you're getting handled like that, I want a coach that looks like he gives a shit. This is the first time that I've really been disappointed that Lovie didn't lay into someone. The D just shit the bed, over and over and over again. I guess Gaines Adams needs to be coached up something awful, huh?
What a giant disgrace. I think we can throw in the towel on the division or any super bowl hopes. At this point I think they'll be lucky to have a chance at a wild card spot.
This team is headed for 8-8 and I hope a fresh start at the coaching position.
Holmgren. He has connection in Chicago via his wife and I think it's time to look at him as first choice. He's stated that he'd consider Chicago if he comes back. He'll want GM plus Head Coaching spots and he won't come cheap. Plus, what the hell would he be stepping into? Team that is suddenly old looking overnight with few draft choices.... How would Cutler do under MH? Shannahan solid number 2 pick.
To show up in Natti and get the shit kicked out of us points to something deeply wrong with this entire squad. What happened in clubhouse this past week? Is someone terminal or what? Lovie better have a damn good reason to explain this loss. Garret Wolfe would have had 180yrds on us today....speechless! Totally unprepared. Is Abe Gibron calling plays from Heaven?
I won't, and neither will anyone with a brain. However you know the "positivity people," will come out of the woodwork when/if it happens. I mean this week someone on here actually called Lovie Smith a great coach. Seriously. what the fuck!
Fire Angelo, Lovie, Turner, Omiyale, give Pace his early retirement plan (oops - we did that already) and wtf does Forte have rocks in his pockets?...he runs like a sick old man on an IV walker. Bears should be pissed and mad and do something - cus we need some serious change. We should be amassing draft picks for next year - not trading them away for DE's - start with the OL - we won't get anywhere with the pathetic group we have blocking today. Oh Cedric why did you not get in a gym until you went to cinci? We could have used Forte's pick to find someone who could block! The hole gets deeper.
Physically owned all day. Disgraceful. One guy I was exicted in seeing play today was Marcus Harrison. With Harris's health/performance issues getting worse, I thought he would step it up and show that he can be the guy to play tackle for the long- term. He showed me nothing, along with everyone else.

One, we lost about as bad as the The RAMS did to Indy.
Two, we lost about as bad as the RAIDERS did to the Jets.
Three, we lost about as bad as the CHIEFS did to the Chargers.
Four, we lost WORSE than TAMPA did to New England.
Five, we lost worse than the BROWNS (our next opponent) did to Green Bay.
Six, New Orleans fell behind early by 3 touchdowns too.
The Saints came back and won that game.
By 12.
On the road.
Seven, We are now 3-3. The same as Dick Jawrong's dazed & confused BUFFALO BILLS.
Eight, Cedrunk Benson. 187 Yards rushing and rubbing the Bears' noses in it with a garbage time TD, garbage time yardage for a CAREER HIGH and STILL IN THE GAME with 2 minutes to play trying to crack 200 yards and score a 2nd TD.
Can you say "Humiliating" ?
MikeBrownhadaPosse said October 25, 2009 at 12:00 am
That was the type of game that will either light a fire under the players collective asses or they will shut down and get beat by Cleveland next week.
If we don't come out and rip Cleveland apart defensively, we can close the door on this season before the halfway point.
Our lack of experience and leadership at linebacker (and the safety spots) is really starting to show. It's not like the players at those spots lack talent, but other than Briggs, you just don't get the feeling that offenses are intimidated by anybody back there right now.
MikeBrownhadaPosse said October 25, 2009 at 12:00 am
it's kind of creepy when complete strangers (read: fake, fairweather fans) send Tweets to our Bears players telling them that they suck. Do you guys see that shit? That is just plain disrespectful no matter how frustrated you are with the team's performance.
guys, there are still 10 games left in the season. Let's not start talking about how the Bears are screwed for the next 10 years just yet. i know it's frustrating but the season is far from over. Let's just see how it plays out. I still think we have a chance to win every game. it doesn't mean we will but let's not write the boys off just yet.
Oh, I think it's safe to write the Bears off now, Johnny .... which part of that crap pie seemed redeemable to you ? Exactly where is redemption for this team ?
Take a look at the Cardinals schedule and scores from 2008. They took some beat downs last year. It took at 47-7 thrashing at New England in week 16 to wake them up but they were lucky to make it into the playoffs since the played in a weak division. The Bears do not have that same luxury. It is a long season and that was a piss poor performance and very disappointing but I am still a Bears fan and look forward to the next 10 games.
Now if Richard Marvin Butkus was playing today, Ced would have been singled out for a kill shot at some point in game. Back in the good old bad days, Butkus would not have put up with Ced running his mouth at our bench. He did it all day with NO PAY BACK. Unforgivable. Where's the freaking pride.
MikeBrownhadaPosse said October 25, 2009 at 12:00 am
On the bright side (its hard to find it) Hester had a pretty solid game and continues to make strides as a receiver. 8 catches 101 yds and the only touchdown.
Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. For anyone to say the Bears had even a glimmer of a bright spot in this game needs to give their head a shake. This effort was totally unacceptable from top to bottom. Great defense calling Lovie. Great offense calling Turner. Great execution players. How about none of the above. You all should have stayed home and watched golf for all the difference you made in this game.
Oh and one other thing. I am sick and tired of everyone saying that Cutler is the best QB we have had since Y A Tittle. How soon you forget about JM. That guy drove that offense. He may have not been the most talented but I would take his guts and determination over any other QB, in any other era for any other team, ever! Jimmy you are a Bear god and always will be.
Yes, he was great, Jimmy Mac. Loved him miss him. He also had a pretty good OL, a great fullback, fast WRs and the greatest football player of all time at halfback. But a winner through and through, yes ....
Y. A. Tittle played for the Giants. Jay Cutler is the best QB since Sid Luckman...and McMahon was a joke, except in 1985. Other than that his career is entirely forgettable.
Jim McMahon wasn't a joke. He left college with 70 NCAA records. Steve Young, holder of most decent NFL passing records, said he learned how to play the position by watching Jim McMahon. He brought Chicago its only Lombardi - Ditka said they couldn't win a super bowl without Jim McMahon. Injury/assault wasn't kind to him ... he put his body above and beyond the call of duty. He didn't slide, he went head first for the extra yard. The little window of health I saw him play through ... he was amazing. Never knew when he was beaten, three TD comebacks were routine on Jim's CV. Loved to call his own plays when the OC/Ditka calls sucked (hear that Jay!). A born leader. I never saw Sid Luckman play football. But I saw Jim McMahon play for the Bears (and only the Bears) and based on that he was one of the greatest quarterbacks I've ever seen. There's guys like Joe Montana, Jim McMahon... and then there's just other guys that play the position. But he was no joke.
This is disappointing. Wholly disappointing...but I already considered the season over (see every post from last week).
I think Ron Turner is problem numero uno. Kyle and Ced are mediocre/bad in Turner's system and are destined for the Pro Bowl on other teams. Jay Cutler is a Pro Bowler in Devner...4,500 yards, 25 TDs, 10 INTs...and is horrendous in our system. I have to believe Ron Turner's inability to develop talent is the cause of this.
Problem #2 is the Offensive Line. I saw a graphic during the game that stated in '08 playing for Denver, Cutler was sacked every 57 dropbacks. In '09 with Chicago he is sacked every 18. I think the Orlando Pace experiment is nearing it's conclusion. As is the fantastic career of Olin Kreutz who probably could not block me on an empty stomach. Garza and Omiyale...just bad...just plain bad. I don't have anything bad to say about Chris Williams. I think he's a good young talent, who will no doubt reach Canton one day as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Where to begin with the defense...who even cares. It's the same old shit. No pass rush. Carson Palmer completed 20 of 24 passes. Benson EMBARASSING those stupid fuckers with 182 yards on the ground.
This is going to be a rough 9 weeks. Hopefully those jokers don't get upset at home by the Browns on the 10th anniversary of Walter Payton's death.
Turner needed to be fired to the point that it was almost assumed it was going to happen following the 07 season. Not firing RT after the 07 season has continued to hamstring the organization. I can't believe that this is even debated by people. The system is faulty. When it works its great, but its either unadjustable, or we can't adjust it when it doesn't work right out of the gate which is about 75% of the time. As far as Olin is concerned, He's one of my favorite Bears from the past, but I spent the entire pre-draft last year on this blog BEGGING for his replacement because there is an age wall for centers in this league and he hit it last year. I cannot believe that everyone knows about being 30 as a RB but the whole center thing is unseen. Olin will continue his slide, his best days (and there were some great ones!) are long gone.
Sometime in the middle of the night last week I posted about my "heart of hearts" belief that we cannot win a Super Bowl with Lovie at the helm. That belief has been brewing ever since the Super Bowl loss, and was helped along by an unusually coordinated and fierce attack on Lovie by the local media following the Atlanta loss pointing out how players seem to always get better after they leave the Bears.
Well it probably goes without saying that the dark mutterings of the heart exploded to the front of the cerebral cortex after that performance - surely a candidate for THE WORST PERFORMANCE OF A BEARS TEAM UNDER LOVIE SMITH - and the first one that I can remember walking away from at half time. (Only a few feet away, to the back yard, but still a very unusual thing for me)
It was so bad that my parochial school 6th grader asked me for permission to say a bad word - a first ever request - so unusual that I had to say go ahead - and he says "Lovie Smith is a DICK!!!"
I had to laugh, better than crying. At least HE didn't cry - last time for that was the 2007 loss to the Cowboys, a mere 3 games into a lost season. 2007 was the year I figured out that Lovie was not a good head coach.
Yesterday was when I figured out he's not a good defensive coordinator either.
I still support Jerry Angelo, maybe foolishly so, but at least he made a lot of moves in the off-season and made the trade for Cutler, who I still do not blame for yesterday. That the moves are not yet panning out - well many of those moves were on the offensive line, and who do we have running that circus? Harry Hiestand and Ron Turner. The one move I hindsightedly disagree with was spending the 2nd round pick on Gaines Adams - I think it should work out great in the long term, but shouldn't that pick have been used to trade for a position we're REALLY short on, like linebacker? Losing two of three starters at that position really cost us in that game. Roach was awful in the middle.
And who thought Bowman could play corner? He apparently can't. Were any of you yelling "why isn't Vasher out there if Bowman's gonna play like this?" like I was?
The Marinelli effect lasted about as long as a Chinese dinner keeps you filled up. Two games now with no sacks.
Greg Olsen is not a bust, but he's not as good as we all thought and hoped, and he apparently can't block worth a shit.
Olin Kreutz is, as Rancid says, two years past when he should be starting for us.
Before yesterday, we could at least say about the line that they provided okay pass blocking coupled with putrid run blocking. Yesterday they gave us the worst pass blocking performance since 2007.
It's only one game. That's what you say after a loss like that.
Unfortunately, you know and I know - IT'S WAY MORE THAN THAT.
Way to get the team ready, Lovie. I'm so done with you.
Dennis green was right. Wrong timing, but right on. The Bears are a smokescreen .... and the only one behind the smoke with any nuts are Lance Briggs and Jay Cutler.
This team is going nowhere near the playoffs after that disgraceful mess. What do we have thus far ? Piss poor coaching, a distracted & therefore unfocussed HC, a perennially failing GM, an amateur OC, a failure of an OL coach and players with no pride. No f **king offensive line, no defensive backfield, linebackers shot to sh*t. Good QB. Good weakside linebacker. That's it. I thought Atlanta was just a bunch of bad luck and bad joojoo. Beaten by a team we should have beaten. WTF was Cincinatti ? The death knell to the tin man's corpse as brought to you by Jerry Angelo, Ron Turner and Bubba Smith, that's what.
It was a terrible game. The defense needs to work overtime this week to game plan. I think they need to set something something up new that will take for the rest of the year.
Step 1: New Defensive playcaller. It has to be either Hillenmeyer or Briggs because Roach isn't cutting it.
Step 2: Stop playing so damn far off the recievers. The CB's need to play closer and the safeties (whoever they are) need to be able to help out if the receivers get behind Bowman and Tillman.
Step 4: Less emphasis on blitzes. It's just not working, so we need to drop these people into coverage more often. It's up to Marinelli to ensure that the defensive lineman do their jobs so there won't be any of the stupid coverage errors that existed today.
On offense, we need to make two (or three bases on your pov) changes to the offensive line and I mean today:
Change 1: Frank Omayale gets cut. This is somewhat symbolic but I don't think I've ever seen worse interior offensive lineman play. If only as a sign that the Bears mean business
Change 2: Josh Beekman goes back to starting at guard.
Change 3: Pace and Williams change places at the tackle spots.
It's simple, they need to run block better and they need to pass block better. There are no other good or reasonable changes to make here, other than starting to admit that we are a pass first team and begin moving directly towards a 60/40 Pass/Run ratio immedietely. Matt Forte is a good pass catching running back but the running play needs to start being there only for a change of pace. This new Bears' team needs to be on the field showcased against the Cleveland Browns so that they can start really implementing against the Cardinals and so forth moving forward.
A completely new look Bears team that doesn't blitz and that sticks their CB's right on top of the receivers will confuse the opposition for at least 4 weeks or so as they continue to gameplan against the early season Bears. I think this might allow the team to pick off a few wins that the team that took the field against the Bengals probably shouldn't.
MikeBrownhadaPosse said October 25, 2009 at 12:00 am
Having gone back now and watched nearly all of the Bengals offensive plays in slow motion, it is amazing that Cincinnati had ONE holding penalty for the entire game.
By comparison, Cincy was called for THREE holding penalties in the first 7 minutes of the Houston game. Want to know why their run game looked phenomenal in the first half? There's your answer. I guarantee the league office made a point of last weeks game vs the Texans to this weeks crew.
I can go back and point out specific instances of Israel Idonije being hugged from behind by the Bengals TE, or Anthony Adams being dragged backwards from the point of attack. I mean, yeah, holding happens on every play, but usually it's a tug here, a pull there. These were pretty egregious.
Oh well, the Defense still shit the bed. Roach is and continues to be awful. Please move Hillenmeyer back there so Nick doesn't have to think. Just stick him at SAM - he'll blow the coverage anyway, so better that he's matched up on the TE from the get go.
This shit makes me sick to my stomach. We played like we were the fucking Rams/Lions/Browns today although that might be a stretch. Those teams all play with heart, of which we obviously have none. Fire Lovie and Turner's pussy ass.
excuse me but did you just say that the Rams and Browns play with heart and the Bears have none? are you fucking joking? Stop being such a sissy. you can be mad but don't make retarded comments. Bears could easily have 2 more wins over extremely tough teams , they have a shitty game today and you are about to fall on your sword? If you truly feel this way and feel they have no heart then you are not allowed to watch anymore Bears games. Take up a hobby like knitting or scrapbooking because you have officially become a fair weather fan. oh, and change your name. you don't deserve to have the words "bear down" in your screen name. mwa ha ha ha ha!
Umm.....did you see anybody playing with fucking heart on sunday? Because I sure as shit didnt other than JC who was on his back the whole game. As for your "sword" comment.......Ive suffererd enough with this fucking team and Ill never pack it in but who the fuck are you to question my loyalty? This is a panel to voice our opinions asshole and thats what I did. If you didnt see this team lay down yesterday then you're delusional and maybe you should find new hobbies....like jacking off with a cheese gtater. Go fuck yourself
Max"I said Bear Down... not lay down"an "and Forte didn't even really have a chance to under perform." funny as hell thanks for posting that.Wasn't smiling until those gems came up
Also i think that lovie cann't manage a game or the season for shit. While the cover 2 may be good in certain situations it is not a base for a whole defense. The play calling is one dimensional on both sides of the ball. They need to be more dynamic.
i am alarmed at how many times Jay Cutler saw his pocket get collapsed right in front of his face. How many times can we rely on Cutler to pull a rabbit out of a hat while getting slammed to the turf or throwing off his back foot moving backwards? Doesn't that sound familiar? Grossman was a good QB that almostly exclusively had to throw on the run or off his back foot.
The D-line got absolutely manhandled ALL game long. I am going to go back and watch some of the running plays again to see what the hell happened.
I don't blame this one on the Offense at all. The Defense shit the bed in the first half, leaving the Cincy Defense to tee off on Cutler the entire game. The delayed handoff to Forte worked...once. Exactly once.
And our offensive line was abysmal. Absolutely abysmal.
Jamar Williams - what an idiotic play on special teams. I know you're trying to "make a play", but they're punting to the best returner in the league. You really don't need to run the punter over.
And Bengals - you are still one of the least classy teams in the league; Cedric, it's too bad karma didn't bite you in the ass and our D didn't give two shits to break your kneecaps late in the 4th.
Hope you blow out your Achilles next week. Douche.
Whoever said 150yds at the beginning of the thread you were right except they have another quarter to go. 45-3 this couldn't be anymore painful to watch.
Is there any reason to keep Cutler in the game at this point? The way the line is blocking he is just going to get hurt. Get Hanie some reps because you are not coming back from 37 points down.
I know it feels wrong to give up on Olin, but the research is fairly clear. I wish we still had the archive link here because I refuse to do it all again. It took like 3 hours last time. For Olin to experience a resurgence would be a humongous anomaly in the NFL world. Centers hit a wall in their early thirties.
I was ok with not replacing him immediately, as long as we drafted a clear choice to be his replacement. Beekman shouldn't count. He's never had the reps at it. Everyone likes to say that he played some center at BC, but that's bull. He started 3 games there as a senior to help his draft status. This means he can play emergency backup probably with a decent body for it, but to paint it as though he is a ready to go center waiting in the wings is asinine. Do you have faith in Defensive coach Lovie, OC RT, and Hairbrain Harry to have developed him into a starting quality center at this point, when he can't even win the start at his natural position???? I doubt it. What really hurts is that we traded our pick last year with Max Unger (who I personally lusted after for months) still on the board. And who did the Seahawks take with our pick? Unger.
I love the player that Olin was. He has the attitude, the persona, and the talent that everyone wants and loves, just like Mike Brown and some of the other great ones. But people get older every year. Olin will not play better this year than last year. He is in his natural slide. He has been in a discernible slide since the Superbowl appearance. He's had some good games in that stretch, but overall, the slide is clear. He's a great Bear, but he's done being a dominant blocker on a consistent basis.

Emery wants big play guys, tough guys and guys with characters. All right.
Well it will be interesting to see if Lovie has the team prepared for a no huddle attack.
I would be much more confident about "preparation" if they hadn't had TWO WEEKS to "prepare" for Atlanta. D'OH!
jeff and these pics....lmfao
PETA's gonna be pissed ... I love it. Can we photoshop a 32 on that thing? Bear down.
Glad I checked the blog before my wife, I would've been hearing about that picture right up to kick off.
Bear Down!!
You never know with these late games...
Stream-links usually won't show up until shortly before kickoff or even a couple of minutes into the games, but i'm pretty sure we'll find one. This football-starving Kraut will keep you updated...
"Violence" is the word of the day....... Love it!!
Yeah, I'm not a Paul McCartney PETA nut, but I find that picture disturbing and inappropriate. I seem to be in the minority.
I guess this isn't the Tribune blog, for better OR for worse.
Watching the Vikes vs Steelers. Let the Favrellatio begin.
only Brett Favre can underthrow a 3rd and 12 pass and be complimented by the announcer that "he probably feels really confident knowing that the Steelers pressure didn't get to him". Ummm...WTF?
Brett is not going to make it out of this game in one piece. Harrison and Woodley don't fall for bootleg fakes like Gune and Anderson...Favre almost died just now.
vikings don't have an answer for pittsburg....i'll take the L even though harvin is on my team
Tony the tiger doesn't look so... Grrrreeeat!
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
We gonna carve em up REAL NICE!
u should look into direct tv nfl sunday ticket. I been having for the past 5 years and hardly ever have missed a game.
GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!
Man....bout 30 min. til kickoff!
LET'S GO!!!!!
yay!!!!!! lets see em try to suck his cock now!!!! hahaha
I want (someone) to give 'services' to LaMarr Woodley...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! pick 6 woooohoooooo game over!!!!!
on another note Adrian Peterson is a fucking beast
that was the kind of play that ends up on NFL Films narrated by Steve Sabol
need a link somebody...mine is trippin
This Vikes vs Steelers game is why i love football. Best sport in the world.
that was sick....i mean unbelievable. truck sticked the SHIT outta dude. but that is the damn game
D1911QF - i totally agree.

Cmon defense....

now it's a password thread
found one... http://www.watchlivefootballgames.tv/
This defense just doesn't look the same without 54 or 59.
It's time for the offense to pick up the slack.
That was really ugly, lets hope this is like the Steelers game and they get their act together after the first drive.

Are you kidding me? False start before running a single play. Here the mistakes come.
ignore that prev link.....that one doesn't work (it makes you pay) the real one is www.adthe.net/89777/watch-chicago-bears-vs-cincinnati-bengals
If your talking about my link, you don't have to pay, just type in pword.

great quality
maine: meant my first link
not loving the playcalling so far boys and girls. and then i'd like to see us not fuck up the punt and give them the ball on the 20. just stay on the field and knock the punt down.
Roach looked lost on the last run
This makes me sick, I want someone to fold Benson's knee. I never want to see someone get hurt but he is a fucking piece of shit.
we are making Cedric Benson look like a damn superstar.....Sickening...
This could get ugly, they are moving the ball at will!!!!!
WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON.
How often do we have to see this atrocious 1st quarter defense...boy do they suck again!!
Both of their backs are getting up laughing!!!!!!!!!!! And our girls aren't even reacting. (Sorry Nicole)
Any more evidence that the Cover-2 defense is outdated and everybody knows how to attack it?
Did Benson get that good?
You could drive a truck through those holes.
o my God....dude is lookin' like a Pro-Bowler out there....Lovie what the hell are you calling?
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING
okay i want the Rod Marinelli - factor kick in RIGHT NOW!
Glad to see the Bears D came to play today.
if they score again, i'm turning the game off
Well that didn't take long. I'll give them one more series and I'll follow you.
Karma is a bitch, ain't it?
Payback for Jeff's fucking disgusting picture.
Bowman is getting eaten up against their receivers.
Hum...Is Benson a bust or are our O line?
we look much more like a college team than an NFL team. Come on Bears
This is just awful. And no picks to look forward to.
is somebody going to cover the best reciever on the Bengals... #85 hit his ass off the line knock him off his route...DO SOMETHING....
we're out here getting bitched....
Poor Bowman....the Bengals are executing the scrambling technique the Seahawks used against us.OF course there is no Seneca Wallace here
Wow! Bengals Show! Sorry my (teddy) Bears...
here's a better link w/ better sound quality: http://www.channelsurfing.net/watch-nfl-10.html
This is the worst effort all year... Corners are lost... the are running down our throat... CMON BEARS...
1st drive 77 yards. 2nd drive 80 yards. Benson averaging 9.3 yards a carry. safeties 25 yards off the ball. dline getting abused. Hillenmeyer is a fucking pussy. my last post of the day.
For those in need of a stream:
http://www.channelsurfing.net/watch-nfl-10.html
wonderful.
wow....i'm at a lost of words at this team....who the fuck are these guys? where are the Bears at?
I think we are just that bad. Every player I've watched is getting blown out. Roach is getting run over on every play. Bengals are averaging 10 yds per play!!!!!!!
Bengals are pumped and Bears are flat. Plain fucking flat.
And now the offense..............ain't hot either.
I love this team, maybe someone should tell them the game has started??
This is ugly and painful to watch. At least I got to see Brett Favre and the Vikings get beat today but with the way the Bears are playing it means shit right now.
R YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
when bad goes to worst......smh
IF this isnt a badly coached team...then i dont know what it is
put 8 guys in the box LOVIE... we have to stop this run... But our inconsistent secondary will get killed... oh wait thats already been happening...LMFAO
Dudes, this is a good team y'all are playing, packers also underestimated them.
Yes, but you guys played up to their level. The Bears have gotten beat on almost every single play.
This is too easy for them....
Hunter Hillenmyer, I was about to say you were doing well this game.
These guys need to learn to cover.
This sorry excuse for a Defense couldn't prevent my grandma from from making a play...this is disgusting...
who should we get to run the bears next season. time to clean house
Bengals Show?? Sorry...Bengals Super Mega Show!! Wow! Where are my Bears??!!
Very well could be but the Bears are a bad football team this year. 6 wins max and it will be a challenge to finish above Detroit.
It'd be nice if the officials would throw a flag on those 3 Bengals throwing Wolfe down 3 seconds after the whistle.
Well. Time to drink 'till you can't feel feelings.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? I cant watch anymore. If I do, I'll end up throwing something through my TV screen.
The Bears offense has to keep the Bengals O off the field otherwise they are going to put up 40+ points easily. Finally get the offense moving and a turnover.
Hahahahah...this is funny
So far, there's not a single player in Navy & White who's earning his paycheck today. Cutler's coming closest, but it's still pretty disgusting. Hey, look! There's the Benson we know--diving to the ground.
Huge hole on that play and Benson ran right into Briggs, the only guy within 5 yards of him. Feeling a bit better now.
Or maybe the beer is kicking in.
Benson dives down to the line of scrimmage... it's about time he's looking like he used to.
Open-2 is our defense..god bless you Lovie
what did the bears have for breakfast?
How nice, apparently Ced has had a rebirth. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Cover no 1 defense is looking pretty pathetic...
I don't know what to be angriest at: Lovie for not adjusting after the FIRST TWO TOUCHDOWNS, the D-line's inability to even get NEAR Palmer, or the Cover-2 in general.
lance briggs is the only shining light in this pisspoor defense
Anyone else worried about getting embarrassed by the Browns next week?
thats the ballgame folks 28-0
I was just thinking that same thing. Is it possible we could get beat down by the damn Browns?? I would have to say yes. I mean just look at this pathetic bullshit.
cant watch anymore.... going to start my grill...
THe Bears defense is utterly pathetic. Lovie has that stupid, clueless look on his face as usual. Please, please, please fire Angelo and Lovie after this season. I am amazed considering the number of defensive draft picks the Bears stock up on each draft that they are this terrible. No passion and no inteisity!
are you stupid? angelo has been working wonders signing people. this is just coaching fuckin' up.
OMG ... this is going to be one hell of an ass-whoopin the Bengales will put on the Bears. Not a damn thing is going the Bears' way in this game.
Bengals should start 2nd string in the 2nd half....This hurts bad... my nextdoor neighbor came out his house screaming... He is now cutting his grass!!!!!
at least he'll have to pass the entire 2nd half.
You mean hen he gets the ball...after the Bengals score on every series.
The Bears need to stop the Bengals who are treating them like Peyton Manning treated the Rams today. It's a joke.
Wow.....UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE
I dont think I can watch the 2nd half, there's already alot of broken shit in my living room.....
This is the kind of game Cutler could get hurt trying to make something happen.
Lovie says 'we got the momentum', what are you worried about? The man has a plan.
Wide receiver screen, tackled for a loss. Ron Turner, do better than that.
EARTH TO LOVIE: OMIYALE SUCKS. Put Beekman in NOW
Omiyale is so fucking bad i can't stand it. Beekman is not bad. Just because he makes 3.7 million dollars a year less than Frank doesn't mean he shouldn't get a shot.
OK, let's not call the pass interference OR the helmet-to-helmet DL hit on Cutler, eh refs?
Orlando Pace killing the pace
What else is new?
jay cutler is getting hit on every play. every fucking play, with a 4 man rush
Hit on every play, every play, every play, every play, EVERY FUCKING PLAY.
salt on the wound. I'm playing worst team in league and Cutler has negative fantasy points.
Cutler is probably rethinking his move to Chicago right about now...
ok....we have a lot of things to address next week:
1) stop fuckin' w/ this cover 2. i like waffle's idea of the tampa 2 mixed in w/ it
2) not only does omiyale need to be benched, but send him his papers
3) orlando pace doesn't have it anymore. period. cutler is getting killed out there (looks like a Kansas City game)
4) we don't need a sensible coach...we need a guy that's going to get into the player's asses (where's Da Coach at)
this is terrible....utterly terrible
I think that was the worst first half of football for the Bears since 2004.
Playoffs? Playoffs? You kiddin' me?! Playoffs? Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs!
I'm not a Lovie-hater, but I would love to have Fisher in charge of this team.
Time for Singletary to come coach the Bears. Ron Rivera can be his DC.
ok let's get three here and have some mo going into the locker room
0 sacks. It all starts there. Oh yeah and maybe we start rethinking the whole "Matt Forte is the future of the Bears" thing. Lately he's got the look of someone who's in street clothes in three years.
I dunno. Considering how poorly this O-line blocks, I don't think anyone short of Walter could get decent yardage behind them.
lol
Now lets get a field goal and spark a historic rally.
Bears 34-Bengals 31
Yeah, thats the spirit! Won't happen but i like the thought..
3 down, 28 to go... until the game is tied.
I think the only thing that will make me happy is to see Benson get hurt.
bad karma dude, if a bear goes down it on you
I can't believe it?!? No touchdown!!!! Bengals are slacking.
one last post-
this is a wake up call that the Tampa 2 can be beat by any team.
At least Cutler has the arm to throw that. I'm already starting to think about 2010. We ain't making the playoffs.
#87 was blocking downfield before the ball was thrown. Not like the Bears would've kept 'em out of the endzone on that series, but it'd be nice if the officials would throw a flag for such an obvious penalty.
time to get the paperbags ready...this is an utter shame
i can't watch this shit anymore.....strictly looking for fantasy wins
me too but Cutler is my QB
no effing rush
ummm...whole sequence was hard to watch
did they just march down the field on us? what the hell....
Any other link? adthe.tv isn't working today
That TD was on Bowman he left Henry wide open!
I don't think this group has it in them. Back in 2006 those guys were *ballers*. This year... well... see for yourself.
PUHLEEEZE let that be a fumble by Prick Cedric. It did appear the ball was coming out on the replay. It was close.
Cutler looks like Steve Grogan against the '85 Bears in the Super Bowl.
Yeah, Tony Eason..... But I get your point.
Eason was pulled during the game, Grogan was put in.
after the mental letdown last week, this is what we return with? The guys are not motivated and the play calling is ancient... Defense is out matched, corners are getting abused...... I'm over it...
I was at Hooter's with some friends watching the game, but I left out and didn't pay the bill. The positive is the Vikings lost and if the Packers win next week then we will be three games back with still two to play against the Vikings!
I predict we lose both games to Minnesota and probably to Green Bay also. I wonder if we beat Detroit when we play them again.
There's another TD - Cedric this time. At this point I want the Bengals to run up the score and totally humiliate Lovie and the defense. It shouldn't be too hard unless the Bengals hold back.
I think that's the only way we will get any change.
why is cutty out there? smh
"The question is why did it play out like this?" I think you've got to look at the coaching staff. Does anyone in Chicago play with passion? No.
Absolutely agree. I just contained myself from exploding with passion.
6 wins max....
Wow did i just see that another ex bear have a career day against us.Cutler must be thinking" I thought I left Denver"
When we beat the Browns next week will you really feel any better about this season?
I won't, and neither will anyone with a brain. However you know the "positivity people," will come out of the woodwork when/if it happens. I mean this week someone on here actually called Lovie Smith a great coach. Seriously. what the fuck!
One request..Can Ron Turner please stop calling plays for Garrett Wolfe as if he was a fullback. Thanks
Da short list:
Mike Shannahan
Mike Holmgren
Bill Cowher
John Gruden
Jeff Fisher
Ron Rivera
I'll take any of those but I really like Singletary. Hell Wannstedt would be a step up...did I really say that??
Ohhh, so THATS what it looks like when the wheels all come off.
Johnny Waffle, Blocking? What blocking?
Embarrassing.
[Cue the scene from "Aliens"]
"GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER! WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO NOW, HUH?
To paraphrase Emily Dickinson, again,
How bad was today? Let me count the ways....
That was the type of game that will either light a fire under the players collective asses or they will shut down and get beat by Cleveland next week.
If we don't come out and rip Cleveland apart defensively, we can close the door on this season before the halfway point.
Our lack of experience and leadership at linebacker (and the safety spots) is really starting to show. It's not like the players at those spots lack talent, but other than Briggs, you just don't get the feeling that offenses are intimidated by anybody back there right now.
Hey, at least Tuesday the T-shirts are here!
Trying to be positive about SOMEthing.
That was bad.
it's kind of creepy when complete strangers (read: fake, fairweather fans) send Tweets to our Bears players telling them that they suck.
I agree - I was just agape when I saw Benson doing his victory lap after his TD.
Did nobody out there give a shit?
The Bears are a soft, pussy team without Urlacher.
Initial reaction to the travesty:
GhostOfHalas.. absolute classic "who will no doubt reach Canton one day as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs."
Scary, but classic.
Time to change that picture, Jeff. Find an equally distasteful one with a bear.
If only as a sign that the Bears mean business
.... Oops, cut myself off. Here's more:
Fuck List '09
1. The Bears
2. Lovie
3. Ron
4. Pace, Omiyale, & Garza
5. The Secondary
6. Tampa 2
7. Forte & Olsen
That
Note to the suits in the front office- You can't play for a better draft position like you did today when you have no picks!
Max"I said Bear Down... not lay down"an "and Forte didn't even really have a chance to under perform." funny as hell thanks for posting that.Wasn't smiling until those gems came up
My vote ron rivera
We should have traded for a new "O" line during the open trade period.
Grossman was a good QB that almostly exclusively had to throw on the run or off his back foot.
our blocking is fucking brutal.
Douche.
Fire everyone.
I seriously think next week's game against the Browns might be a loss. I mean, really, how has this team beatin ANYONE????
If Ced Benson takes the field after the two minute warning i lose the last bit of respect for the guy i have left.
jeff....make another thread. this game thread needs to go to internet hell
175 yards rushing is UNACCEPTABLE... Defense... what defense!
Devin Hesters 100+ yds receiving aside, nothing this so called football team - coaches included - did tonight was acceptable. A total mess.
I like how Cutler mouthes the words "What Happened?" after he threw this 3rd Pic.
You and us both, Jay. We want to know. WTF Happened.
Whoever said 150yds at the beginning of the thread you were right except they have another quarter to go. 45-3 this couldn't be anymore painful to watch.
Jeff you still confident about Cleveland next week? Lol. Not a good year when one of the worst teams in the league is going to be a measuring stick...
Apparently there are incentives in Benson's contract that get him a keg and a new boat if they beat the Bears by 40+
Worst effort I've seen in awhile.
Both the O- and D-lines are just getting worked over...and by the BUNGLES no less.
What the f- ever.
Yeah, Ochocinco gets me fantasy points..... 2 TD's and like 3,000 catches today. I'm stoked! {kidding, though at this point, you can't blame me}
Until that last play I didn't even know Manning had been on the field.
It's wierd...I can't turn away. I don't want to watch anymore, but it seems like getting mad makes it feel ok.
Is there any reason to keep Cutler in the game at this point? The way the line is blocking he is just going to get hurt. Get Hanie some reps because you are not coming back from 37 points down.
Oh well...another TD pass. What the hell lets show the world how bad we really are.
Any bets Palmer does't throw another one? They won't even need to wash his Jersey.
Olsen gave up on that pass. WTF. The pass shouldn't have been thrown with that coverage but you have to go after it.
Over/Under on Bears wins for the season at 7.5. I take the under.
Isn't there some ancient mercy rule that would end this mess? This is so terrible...
Sad day in chi town... we now really know how bad we are! PERIOD
we need to pull whatever cincy did to get a line like that....b/c ced is killing it.
KEvin PAyne bringing Da PAyne
Wait a minute..I went to Purdue!!!!! And no I was not an Orton lover...or hater for that matter
I'm thinking that "Voice of Treason" will do the writeup
