  • First YAY!!!!!!!!!

  • Good luck today people Bear Down!!!!!!

  • Kyle Orton just won the lottery today lol....good for him he's had a rough year

  • Bear Down!

On the minny note - if AP is not such a freak, Minny's running game looks mediocre. They are horrid at converting 3 and shorts...he gets 4/5 of his yards out of 1/10 of his carries.

  • Narcissus and the Favrettes took advantage of a young team that did not look like they were ready for a season opener

  • Except for Cribbs and Wimbley

  • OMG we are almost at game time.......I can't stand it!!!!!!!

  • Our corners need to jump routes tonight i swear.....I rather go out fighting than having them hit slants on us all night

  • I'm pumped an looking forward to the 2009 season.Tonight is the beginning of the Jay Cutler era!Chicago welcome back from QB hell!!

  • I've been watching football all day and was hoping to at least pass the time with a juicy viqueens loss but the browns are far worse than I could have imagined....Brady Quinn looked like bad Rex out there

  • KO deserved a break. I saw Brandon Marshall drop at least 2 on him today.

Been to the store for brew, ground sirloin, buns, etc., etc.
Propane tank is full and the grill is clean. Another Bear Buddy will be here before kickoff. Nervous, just not sure WHAT to expect.

Bears, you OWE us for last season in Green bay. Show up and collect!

  • got 35 riding on the Bears (get 53 when they win). BEAR DOWN!!!!!

  • What is with Al Michaels hair?

  • o and did anybody see mcnabb go down AGAIN?!?!!? even though it was understandable if you saw the play, but dammit this is a broken record.

  • Still watching the end of cardinals-49ers here.

    FYI,
Visited The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal yesterday. The cheese heads I saw commenting there have NO RESPECT whatsoever for the Bears and expect to win tonight in a walk!

  • BJ Raji & Will Blackmon are out. Fuck yea.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Peanut is in.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

It's finally here folks!! GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Oh, and i to follow jersey's sentiment- 15 minutes to go!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Tillman and Vasher are starting Corners. Inglesias inactive. Knox is in.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

And they're wearing those Goddamn white pants.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I hate those fucking white on whites!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

This is going to be a violent game.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    holy bananas here we go!!!!!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

i think i may soil myself

  • In reply to FQD1911:

yo...aaron rodgers is goin' DOWN this game.....it's wrap

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    pisa is hurt fuck!!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Oh fuck. Pisa is hurt.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Pisa looked dazed and confused, hope he is ok.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Biggs says it's a right knee injury and he is questionable.

    If it's a ACL/MCL I'm going to be upset.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Looked like some jitters on that first offensive series.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Not a very good start to the Cutler era... But i have faith!! Bear down!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

holy crap urlacher crushed crushed rodgers on that last pass yikes!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Worried about Pisa, but did you see Urlacher lay the wood on Rodgers? MAN was that fun to watch!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

If we get beat by that fuckin slant all season i'll lose it.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Why do you not give the ball to the best player on the team...FORTE!!! "We are a running football team".. L.S.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

He will. The opening strategy was to let Cutler stretch his wings and see what happens. Now, smashmouth/short passes.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Collinsworth blamed the pick and all the near picks on the receivers. Never saw what he was talking about on the real pick with Dez.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Wale is showing something tonight

  • In reply to FQD1911:

How did Maynard get cut down on that punt and have no flag thrown? Did anyone else catch that?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

It is Sure Bears-Packershard nose football. Wouldn't want to be taking some of those hits...

  • In reply to FQD1911:

How is that not running into the kicker?!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Any word on Pisa?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Our D has been on the field way too long this half.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

The defense is on the field entirely too long, this is why they wear down late in the game!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    JACKASSSSSS

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Jackass!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    this. is. bullshit.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I thought we traded Kyle Orton...

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    Jack-a$$!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

He is running scared back in the pocket with the blitz....that was a good catch though on the int

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Des Clark is clearly not in this game... That's twice he has cut off his route. come on!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I don't know what Clark was doing, if he continues to the corner that is a TD.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

All DaY. This is not the team we saw int we preseason

  • In reply to FQD1911:

SAFETY FAGGOT ASS PACKER FANS!!!!! MUTHAFUCKAS!!!!! BEAR THE FUCK DOWN!!!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

D MAn is the shit!!! Thats the way!!! SAFETY!@!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Where in the hell was he throwing that ball?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

They're not going to take Cutler out...what the fuck, guys. We need to start picking up the blitzes and giving Cutler another half-second in the pocket.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I have no hope...what have these guys been doing for the last 4 months?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

man....cutty is out there fuckin' up....hope he gets it together in the 2nd

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Interesting challenge --- if he fumbled into the endzone & out of bounds, it's Bears' ball at the 20.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

This is bad people... I mean i know its GB but if this is how we play the good teams were doomed.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    or fucked if you prefer.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I said it in the preseason and until the wr and cutler get on the same page! Rex 2.0!!! I want it not to be the case but 1st half is showing true! Its okay to throw the ball away!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Look at the so called Clark int, he turns to roll with Cutler which is what is coached!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

things will be ok in the 2nd....he just needs to settle down. still PLENTY of time to make this a game.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Calm down, people. This is irrational. It's 28 minutes into the season. If you guys start hollaring for Caleb Hanie I'm gonna quit.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

We are lucky to be down by only 8, knock on wood! And the defense has looked pretty good! Who would not give up a two yd touchdown!!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Come on lets get a turnover before half

  • In reply to FQD1911:

No Hanie but its making me remember the Az game!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Every single play, Rogers is getting up from the turf and straightening his jersey. I LOVE that.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I hope your right Ghost... this is horrible.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I am drinking the Marinelli Kool-Aid. The D-line looks dominant and Ogunleye looks like a monster.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

On a positive note, before I slit my wrists. Wale is playing like Reggie F-ing White. He's killing them and keeping Rodgers out of rythm. Thank Christ for his effort so far. Second half is our time, BEAR THE FUCK DOWN.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    It's not horrible. It's kinks.

What would be terrible is if Cutler sinks into the quicksand (to borrow from The Replacements) and is unable to emerge.

    Then sinks again against Pittsburgh...

    And Seattle...

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Wale is in a contract yr but we are getting pressure with the front four! I'm hoping that keeps happening with Cutler not trying to press! Knox looks really good! Its not that bad, right?

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    I don't feel so good....

But I still believe. If the defense can play this good all year I know the O will find their way.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Both defenses look impressive as hell. J-cut's problem is that he's pressing like crazy and other than Knox, none of the receivers are doing a damn bit to get separation. He needs to hurry up learning the playbook so he can get more snaps.
Bennett has looked completely lost. Dez is in a fog. Hester had a nifty catch early but has disappeared.
And where is the goddamn rushing attack? some off left guard stuff would be nice, especially with harris playing peekaboo.
The D (especially WALE!!!) is looking NICE.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Run the ball RON! Run the f-ing ball!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

hail mary pass and they almost screwed that up. This is not the way to start. Even if this was a team other than GB, i think they would still be playing like this. A lot of confidence in the personel does not mean they will produce in the field. Cutler and the recievers look like that have never played together. This will be a long season if the game doesn't change.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Ghost, I'm with you, and calming down more and more by the minute. Tough environment, a city's worth of pressure, and what must feel like the weight of the world on 6's shoulders. The good news is he won't have a half that bad for the rest of the season. To only be down 8 at this point is a win in my book. The defense is playing extremely well, and I hope the ding on Pisa is minor. This offense is hard to watch, though, and not what I've been waiting for since April 2nd. Let's see where we are after the 3rd quarter. Caleb Hanie isn't the answer, not now or really at all this season.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

We get the ball 1st in the 2nd half drive down get some pts an go form there

  • In reply to FQD1911:

And, for the record, I TOLD YOU KNOX WAS THE STEAL IN THE DRAFT. That kid has it all, and if RT doesn't incorporate him into the offense starting at halftime of this game, he should be fired. Knox is the TRUTH!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Where are the quick slants with all of the corner blitzes? Force them to stop those! Here's to a better first half or my beer tab will be over 100.00!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

Maybe my tab is already there, 2nd half!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

This second half will tell a lot about the future of Jay Cutler. I know it is only one game but it will be important how he responds to adversity in this game. It couldn't have been much of a first worse half for him. Turner needs to call some plays to counteract the pressure and do some in game adjustments.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

I'm a 12 pack in, and rambling at this point. I'm glad to have a virtual room full of die-hards to shoot the shit with. It took me 34 minutes to type this.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

olsen needs to see the ball. knox needs to see the ball. if i hear one more comment about Rex 2.0 or Kyle or taking Cutler out i am going to puke.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    sick pass to Bennett!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

    TY Mr hester

  • In reply to FQD1911:

how is collinsworth talking with the packers nuts in his mouth all game.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

even when the Bears do something good it's about the Packers.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    urlacher hurt

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    wheres aromasudu?

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    Packer nuts aren't very big.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Urlacher is out and the announcers say nothing about it?

  • In reply to hollywood1:

guys his whole game is coming down to line play. When out offense gives Jay 2 or more seconds int he pocket we are good. When our defense beats Rodgers we are good.

Jay is not jay because of line play. Slow down some of the plays and watch them... Our Oline is getting beat

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

Yes the bad decisions are coming because of the line and pressure but he needs to not force things and be patient.

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

    des clark hurt

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

    omiyale hurt

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

what the fuck is going on here.

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

Beekman was good last yr and solid in the preseason! We should be fine!

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

Injuries starting to pile up....btw where is Olsen tonight? No catches so far.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

They have not gotten him involved at all tonight.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

I don't like to see anybody hurt, but Omiyale has been awful tonight.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

This Packers team is VERY beatable. If we can salvage a victory and forget the first half, I think we've got a great launching pad into the rest of the season.

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

touchdown could lock it up and head home for Pit..

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

omiyale is having a bad bad game

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Jeezus this is a weird game. Packers are stopping the run, Forte isn't getting anywhere, and the Bears have 2 passes over 30 yards. Bear down!

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Jenkins from GB is a monster

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

i just realized that everytime forte gets tripped up its because omiyale missed a block

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

    WORST PLAY CALL EVER!

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

    Wierdest game ever!

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

Not if the challenge works, but if not you are correct sir

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

If this challenge goes through i'll fuckin laugh and have seen it all.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    someone fucked up royally

  • In reply to Darrek:

That call is on the long snapper just like when a center sees someone offsides! Lovie's eyes turned red instantly!

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Hester w/the Heisman trophy move!

    /posterized

  • In reply to Darrek:

Jeeze. Even I cringe at that call on Al Harris. No complaints though.

But Jay, it would've been nice to save that timeout...

  • In reply to Darrek:

Our defense looks better than 2005 tonight.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Awful, awful call.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    A Greg Olsen sighting!

  • In reply to Darrek:

OMG McKie caught a pass. For a 1st down.

  • In reply to Darrek:

Well the defense did their job, but the offense is literaly giving the game away! Have a good nite everybody. I'm goin to bed.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Hey, McKie caught one!

  • In reply to Darrek:

Wow. Reading the comments on here... Ghost is the only one who has been watching football for more than 5 minutes. Have a little faith people. Christ.

  • In reply to Darrek:

New QB, unproved wide-receivers, new O-lineman, first game. We've lost the turnover battle 3-0 and we're WINNING. What are you talking about?

  • In reply to Darrek:

Wait... you asked them to take Cutler out? Stop talking. Now.

  • In reply to Darrek:

and now we have no to's and the pack have the offense to din and dunk the ball into fg range

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Remember: a W is a W is a W.

  • In reply to Darrek:

Lets see a turnover right now!!!

  • In reply to Darrek:

Im shittin my pants... This shouldn't be this close!!! BEAR DOWN!!!

  • In reply to Darrek:

Like what, Thorazine? Please, stop posting.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    What were you saying transplant

  • In reply to Darrek:

that's the old Kevin Payne i was waiting to see!!

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Pathetic.... this was wrong.

  • In reply to Darrek:

Vasher burned for the big one!

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Payne and Vash

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Not over.

  • In reply to Darrek:

Well this is what we traded for

  • In reply to Darrek:

What should we do now Mr Transplant?

  • In reply to Darrek:

Now its over, that wasn't just the pass. Knox got man handled on that pass, he should have gotten an angle on the ball.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    A true comedy of errors.

  • In reply to Darrek:

    Cutler = Bad Rex

  • In reply to Darrek:

Such a great game for the defense but it comes down to what we thought would be our achilles heel the play of our corner backs.

  • In reply to Darrek:

In no way am I not wanting Cutler but he played bad! I just hope this was his worst game yet! Good company everyone, good night!

  • In reply to Darrek:

i'm not too concerned with the picks, but the recievers not finishing routes, 7 injuries and a loss to a team that we defensively handled well all game is too much. PISA and URLACHER hurt? Come on Vash.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    and the fake punt???

  • In reply to hollywood1:

that's 35 bucks gone. what the fuck.....

  • In reply to hollywood1:

What happened too the team that we saw in the preseason? Jay talks about the pressure and he can handle it. bull shit this was a bad display of the staff misjudging the talent ont this team. I hope that the whole team watces this video for the whole week.. Watch all of the missed tackles and missed oppurtunities. Defense line kept the bears in this game. Steeler come to town next week and if they playh like this we will be 0-3 before our by. I'm very sad for waiting all this time for this shit. Accountablity!

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Don't do this, guys. Hold fast!

You know Cutler isn't Rex, or Kyle, or Jonathan, or Chad. Can you give the guy a break?

  • In reply to hollywood1:

The offense will click at some point. Probably be sharp in next game.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

@BaM: Cuz he was driving for the ball.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Alright, horrible game offensively, but the defense is stout disregarding that last play. Vash is done, next week we'll see Peanut and Bowman for sure. Marinelli has our guys getting pressure again, and that was a huge question mark coming into tonight. I'm chalking tonight up to nerves and a lack of understanding and communication between Cutler and his receivers. I figure we beat this team at Soldier Field, so we split the series. Cutler will come out next week with a gigantic chip on his shoulder. I think he'll play mad all season, and that's a good thing. Side note, Tony Dungy can gargle my nuts. I don't have any clue why everybody hails this guy as the moral compass of the NFL. If you ask me, he let his son down. Nuff said. I'm tired of hearing him talk. Cutler will bounce back from this, and it's a good lesson to have. I'm done, taking off my 54 jersey and packing it in.

  • In reply to MattySouthside:

Word - Bowman is +15 over Vasher

  • In reply to MattySouthside:

And another thing...down 2 pts, in a game that very easily could have been decided by a field goal, why the hell did we not go for 2 on the TD to Hester? If you make it, score is tied, if you don't, you're down 2 instead of 1.
What frigging chart was Lovie looking at that explained that one?

  • In reply to brandonpurcell:

fucking ridiculous call on 4th and 11. fucking brutal. we need to make Green Bay win not find ways to make us lose.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

    agreed.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Can U tell Lovie did not make that call? He actually looks pissed

  • In reply to hollywood1:

I have seen everything now....Wolfe wasn't even ready for that...he is lucky it hit him and didn't fly by him.

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Vasher with a big stop in the open field

  • In reply to hollywood1:

I think it was an auto call... Mannelly is supposed to see the 12th man and quick snap it, but he totally F'ed it up. You could see Wolfe yelling at him on the sideline.

  • In reply to Ronoglesby:

These injuries are not good at all.......take the lead though!

  • In reply to hollywood1:

nick collins hurt. time to attack his replacement

  • In reply to hollywood1:

Urlacher is out for the rest of the game with a wrist injury.

  • half hour bitches!!!!!!

  • Because it was within 5 yards, it's completely legal. Of course, so was the one that was called on the last drive, but the officials just fucked that one up.

  • Well, they are who we thought they were...good and bad.
The D-line is VASTLY improved over last year. Pressured and hit Rodgers all night with just a 4-man rush. Wale was a beast.
Vasher is god-awful.One open-field tackle does not excuse the complete abuse he took all night. Rodgers completion percentage against anyone else in coverage was horrid. Against Vash, he lit it up. When the opposing QB is going after you instead of the guy who sat out all preseason recovering from back surgery, here's your sign: you suck balls.
All of the wide receivers are extremely young (some of them mentally, some physically). I cannot fathom why the Duke lined up a yard past the LOS. is he blind in his right eye?
The O-line is not great at run-blocking, despite the Gints preseason game. We'll see what they're made of against Pittsburgh...at least they're playing the two 3-4 teams two weeks in a row.
McKie dropping a swing pass? Go figure.
God, that idiotic direct snap; it's still 12 frigging men on the field if you f-cking snap it to the punter. The major problem is: you cannot wait for the guy to run all the way to the nacho stand before you snap it, Patrick.
Cutler isn't this bad - I'll tell myself that for at least another week.

  • I'm with you Ghost. This is a great lesson learned tonight. But to be in a game where your Franchise QB throws 3 pics and lead with less than 2 min left, that tells me something. I think next week we'll open some eyes, depending on how serious the injuries are to Pisa and 54.

  • I am not one iota less excited about Cutler than I was five hours ago. He will be fine.

  • So we don't go undefeated for the season. It was a bad game that we hung tough in with all the mistakes made. So now it Steeler Week an lets hope everybody is healthy next week.

  • guys, cutler had a solid second half and we had some good drives and once they work out the kinks we will be just fine. The running game looked lackluster though. Defensive pressure looked good on Rogers. Concerned about injuries though. Bennett impressed me too. Knox is going to be good but they all have alot to learn.

  • 1. This is why we say Bear Down.

    2. Why the hell are we running a play to Knox there?

    3. I hate Tony Dungy even worse as a commentator, if thats possible

    4. Lovie is the worse challenge guy in the history of the league

    5. Greg who?

    6. I'm happy with the D, I just hope they don't all spend the rest of the season on the DL.

    7. That was a Black and Blue game

  • Boy, did the Packers offense just stink up the field tonite, or what? What the hell else do we have to do to help these morons win a football game? Jcut did his best to make it look like our offense was incapable of playing in a fucking PeeWee league, and the Packers sould still only muster 21 points!!!! I'm not impressed.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Doesn't really matter how the game starts...matters how it ends. Crosby missed a FB and ARod was out of sync. If he can be terrible and still win a game, I'm cool with that. Great to see our defense wreaking havoc on Cutler. Don't pull a Favre fan and blame every interception on the receiver. The D forced him into bad decisions all day.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Jim Miller - god rest his broken down body - hates Cutler every day of the week and was, to steal a phrase, gargling Favre's nuts all off-season. Pardon me if I don't give a rats ass what Mills has to say about Cutler tonight. I'll have to listen to it on NFL Network all day tomorrow.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

FQD1911 goes down in blog history for the "nut gargling" line. It's his, and with his permission I use it at every chance I get. I got no time for arm-chair analysts. We do enough of that ourselves. I still see us at 6-2 by week 9, and as an 11 win team at the end of the season. All 53 guys on the roster are taking this one hard, and that's the kind of team we need moving forward. I definitely should NOT have watched 300 after the game. Too much rage flowing right now.

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Lovie Smith sucks. I'm so sick of watching him get out coached I could just gag right now.
Play calling, terrible again. Turner Blows. What more to say?
O-Line: old and a disaster Frank O must go...
This game was gift wrapped to GB. Two ints in fg range, a third one that gave them 1st and goal from the 1. And of course the fake punt set up another field goal. They gave up 10 legit points...

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

Bud Light presents "Real Men of Genius".
Today we salute you, FQD1911, for bringing "nut-gargling" into the lexicon of all residents of Da Bears Blog...you finally gave us what we wanted: a phrase that perfectly captures the wretch-inducing jock-riding sycophantic behavior of so many media whores.
So crack open an ice-cold Bud Light, Mr. Inventor of ball-oriented phrases...some may use your words, but they'll never use your toothbrush.

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

why thank you man. it's such an honor.....

man, this GB/Cowboy fan tried to front on me and talk shit.....had to set her ass in place.

  • In reply to FQD1911:

GB/Cowboy fan? You mean, "Bandwagon Sally".
That combination has no logical basis, no matter what bullshit they come up with.

bro....the first time she said that shit, i laughed at her and called her a "football floozy." women that don't know football kill me....

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

    Well, that fucking sucked.

Cutler (before this game) was a hard quarterback to root for.

He always looks like a whiny bitch.
But worse, he played like a whiny bitch tonight.
He just shit the bed during Packer Week.

And WTF was Lovie thinking with that fake to Wolfe on 4th and long in his own goddamn territory?

Caller: "I need help, please, and fast!'
Operator: "Please state the nature of your emergency'.
Caller: "My football team just shot itself in BOTH FEET!"

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

That sucked my asshole with a giant straw from Mcdonalds. Vash is a fucking thief. He pocketed millions and gave us a shit product in return. DEMOTE HIS ASS TONIGHT!

    Thoughts on tonight:
1.I hate the piss and puke
    2. Defese shut down the media darling and "future league MVP" A-Rod
    3. Vash is a liability
    4. Cutler isnt afraid to mix it up and challenge not only the D but our own guys as well. I like it despite tonights performance

And all you bitches out there crying fowl, calling him Rex or Kyle or Burris.......HAVE SOME FUCKING FAITH WILL YA??????????

What a fucked up sunday. I lost in both my fantasy leagues, lost my own football pool, the Bears lost, and my niece soilled red fucking punch on my white $150 Cutler jersey! Mother fuck me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone needs to chill out. Thank god Ghost and a few others were around to be a voice of reason. I just read the Haugh and Morrissey articles and wow are those guys brutal! They want JC out, regret ever trading for him. They are a perfect representation of what the media is these days: 'FUUUCCKKK!!! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!' - I'm so sick of this kinda shit.

By my estimation, we fared much better than last time up there. We blew it but had a chance to win despite Cutty's pix(which I have mixed feelings on...)

Cutty had a bad game at any measure. But so did our O-Line, so did Nate(WTF-where was Bowman?!!), and not much running ever happened(see:O-Line).

I'll cut to the chase: Everyone Chill TF out. We just need to win one of these 1st 2 and we already came close. I say we're 1-1 after this weekend. brrrssss.

And now I'm drinkin H20, alone on the west coast on dabearsblog. Jeff! Haven't heard from you in hours and beginning to worry.

Ladies and Gents,(besides losing) I loved this game tonight, maybe I was just that thirsty. The Bears fought like beasts and now several are left licking their wounds like Url whose to undergo wrist surg tonight and will be out a few weeks. Pisa may be lost. But I think they'll fuck the pack up at Soldier field in 3 months.

What I mean is that I'm still very excited for this season and can't wait for next week! They just gotta make it 1-1! brrrssss.

    PITIFUL

  • In reply to MikeBrownhadaPosse:

Well this post is likely a waste because I'm sure El Hefe is preparing a missive as we speak - and I do believe he's going to be reacting more like those on the positive side than on the negatives - because there were a lot of positives out there.

The first is macro - it was obvious from that game that we belonged out there, despite people picking either the Vikings (most) or the Packers (the rest) to win the division, I thought we outplayed them last night despite being in their raucous crib. And despite the opening night jitters of our new franchise QB.

Before the game started, I turned to my diehard fan son and said, remember, Cutler throws picks. I certainly didn't imagine he'd throw as many as he did, or look as rattled as he did the first half.

But the second half was MUCH more important than the first - he generally played great in the second half, played like the guy we thought we were getting - until the last drive. And I honestly had not much real hope that he would get it done in the last drive - that's fairy tale stuff, at least considering the obvious work-in-progress we're dealing with in terms of Cutler + inexperienced receivers + new line + no timeouts.

I thought everyone fought like dogs out there - was especially impressed with GB's ferocity on D - but I was equally impressed with our D! That team was supposed to be an offensive juggernaut - and we SHUT THEM DOWN. That was impressive, and the early returns on the coaching change to Marinelli + Lovie is extremely positive, boding well for the rest of the season - IF bodies hold up, and judging from last night's game, that's a big if.

The game last night didn't necessarily turn on Cutler's 4 interceptionts - it was a few single individual breakdowns. Mannelly's once-in-a-lifetime game-changing brain cramp - which we will never again see happen on the Bears in our lifetime - Vasher, obviously (and I give credit to most of you on here who noted how bad he's actually become, I was a holdout in believing in him, that's DONE) - change two plays there and it's a different outcome. Frank Omiyale getting schooled ALL GAME LONG. That was ugly, and disappointing. Maybe they go back to Beekman/Garza after that.

Of greater concern to me was how horrible our receivers were, I saw more drops in one game, SPREAD ALL AROUND, than I remember in any single game. Bennett fixed his deal, played much better in the second half. The tight ends were horrible, mostly Dez Clark. Never seen a worse game by him. Tight ends are supposed to be our strength, the good news is we can pull Dez and have TWO guys to go to. Johnny Knox is exciting, and I'm thrilled that he was out there making plays immediately.

One game, one loss that was in no way an assured win going in, next game's going to be tough but let's spend the week with Cutler continuing to get in sync with his receivers, especially in teaching them what to do when protection breaks down. Insert Vash's replacement. Get Briggs up and running at mike. Explain to Mannelly that he's an old horse, and could get taken out back and shot, no one would lose any sleep. Get Michael Gaines and Kellen Davis up and running.

Somebody better wake Matt Forte up and remind him that the season's begun. That's the first bad thing I ever said about him, but he did not look like the MF of last year, or of the preseason. Like he was running in molasses. I understand that the combo of Omi and Kreutz was allowing defenders right up in his grill, but it certainly was strange to see 25 come in there and represent an improvement. I remember no passes to Forte either.

LOVE the one step drop hitch plays, they worked every time, and in a big way. Didn't really have a big problem with Turner, Cutler was improvising much of the game anyway, way too skittish in the first half but he calmed down.

I know they are pissed at themselves for losing this one. Come out with the same fire next week and we'll be 1-1.

    BEAR DOWN!!!!

  • In reply to FQD1911:

and yes, seriously it's an honor!!!! thanks fellow Bears fans!!!!

  • In reply to RogerMinton:

By the way, 1st and 5 playcalling sucked. We had 2nd and goal from the 2.5yard line and called a slow developing toss to Pace's side? a fucking toss? I have to believe that 2 more inside runs would get us 2.5 yards and a TD.

  • Yeah, I can't be on the pc and watch the game at the same time, drives me nuts plus I broke a key that way once. Screw the Pack, we know how to beat 'em now we just have to perform

  • dammit did the wrong thing

about vasher.....FUCK HIM!!!!! CUT THAT FUCKER!!!!!

  • Honestly I can't tell if I love Cutler's attitude in the press conference or if its pissing me off

  • guys, we had 4 interceptions and we still only lost in the last minute of the fucking game. let's settle down.
