Beat Reporters on Twitter

Somehow we got here.  Camp.  September 13th is right there.  So close.

Most of us don't have the patience to wait for full wrap-ups at the end of practice so I'm doing the Twitter thing.  I should mention that I hate Twitter when it is used by every knucklehead in America to share the tedious banalities of their tired existences.  But reports from Bourbonnais are fine by me.

Brad Biggs of the Sun-Times is here.

David Haugh of the Tribune is here.

If you're attending camp, feel free to send photographs to jeff@dabearsblog.com and I'll make sure they get on the site.

  • FIRST BITCHES!!!!!!!!!! I got two DUI within the past two months..so I will probaly be missing more that half the season.... anyone have any legal advice?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Only the obvious.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Legal advice. Nope. Good luck.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

What the hell is twitter? It sounds like a derisive gay slur.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    Hire Donte Stallworth's lawyer.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Anyone know where we'll be able to catch the latest on 'our boy roy' during training camp? Also, I'm a big fan of hillenmeyer over the leaning tower but maybe thats just me. I think hunter is much better in coverage than alot of folks give him credit for. Also, anyone who thinks we wouldn't miss peanut is "off their rocker". Unless Vash has had some kind of a miracle offseason Tillman's still our best at the position. He had me @ moss in the endzone and last year was a bad year for many on defense. brrsss

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Peanut was playing that deep off the line of scrimmage because that was the scheme. I don't think the DC is going to just let a corner sit back on coverage if that's not what he wants him to do.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Hey guys, what does it mean that Marcus Harrison is on the "non football injury list"

What happened to him? Did he sneeze his back out like Sosa?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Johnny, he is 20 pounds over weight. So he is not allowed to practice until he drops the wieght.

  • In reply to alott96:

can you imagine that conversation coming from Marinelli?

"Marcus, you a hell of a kid, hell of a kid, but you are too goddamn fat! Git your ass on that treadmill and drop me 20."

I'm assuming Marinelli talks like a semi abusive coach from the 60's that spent time in the military but is trying to be sensitive.

  • In reply to alott96:

i've been there. i had some "family issues" this past offseason and i gained about 20 lbs too. The issues were:

    1. grilling every type of meat possible
    2. drilling ice cold Rum and Cokes while I grilled every type of meat possible.

Say goodbye to Joey "Welcome to" LaRocque

Oh Joey, we hardly knew ye.

  • In reply to alott96:

Ah twitter. My question is what is the past-tense version of a tweet? Is it tweeted or twat. I am hoping for the latter. LOL.

Stoked for camp. Urlacher says this is the best team he has ever been on. Lets hope he's right. Finally daily bears news! I love baseball but its just not football. Thank god its friday. Bear down.

  • In reply to JimmyNewport:

i like hearing line like "best team i've ever been on". The players are excited because they know they have a great chance to win ballgames this year. Bringing in a guy like Cutty sparked a fire in the Bears that anything is possible. The fans believe it and the players do to.

  • In reply to JimmyNewport:

You remember when Bobby Wade fumbled 3 or 4 balls in a single game? Well, I think he just did it again. When asked by Kevin Seifert on ESPN if he "stood by what he said, Wade replied 'I don't know what you're talking about,' and laughed."

    So says Brad Biggs.

  • In reply to JimmyNewport:

Thinking more about this D. Manning to FS move. This kid has struggled because they move him all over, and now they want him to learn FS, nickel back, and kick returner. Why not just move him to JUST FS. Then train someone like Graham or Bowman or Moore as nickel back? Manning is a gifted athlete but that is not the same as versatile. I don't get this.

He has the physical capability to be a good S, but I don't know how much sense it makes to overload this guy with 3 different jobs.

  • In reply to JimmyNewport:

I agree, Jimmy. I had always though that Manning could be a much better Nickel than Safety, but what do I know?

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

Yeah, Marcus had some "family issues" that were apparently causing him to "eat his pain" in the offseason. He'll be good in a couple of weeks.

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

    don't drink and drive.... lol...

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I have a boner, a raging Bears boner!

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

It Navy Blue and burnt orange, with a little C at the tip

  • In reply to Grizzly559:

I totally agree with Jeff. Twitter for this training camp is totally fine by me. In general it is brutal but when i get to here about cutty hitting olsen, hester and bennett on various pass routes all day long i can hardly concentrate at work.

Will the great Bennett experiment work out? will Hester progress even more at receiver? How awesome will Olsen's hair look? We will be Twatted all day long about that shit and i personally love it.

  • Thanks Max! The combo of Dickerson and Biggs is now my click to Twit for this training camp. That was bad, i know.

  • I'm jealous too. Looking forward to seeing the pics you took BaM
