For the last 6 months, I have been heavy into vinyl. Though I still shop the cut out bins for CD's, more and more, I find myself perusing the record racks.
I've written about the resurgence of this fun form of music several times in the past year, citing Polyvinyl as the biggest purveyor.
Speaking of Polyvinyl, they have led me to make a decision, several times in the past year that has now become a normal question. Do you want to buy the CD, the vinyl, or the bundle?
Funny, a couple of years back, I was all CD. Now, in 2019, I'm all VINYL. There is such a great feeling when the big square box arrives in the mail, and the excitement mounts as you crack the plastic and pull out the dust cover.
Is there anyone who doesn't love colored shellac or an awe-inspiring picture disc? Give me some bowling ball vinyl, and I'm in love. By the way, I only go bundle if the t-shirt is good looking. If it's just a square record pic, then that's a big, "No."
If you considered vinyl a fad, I can tell you that it's here to stay for a long while again. The prices are soaring and so is the demand. This means, new versions, new releases, and new remasters. It's a lot to keep up with and a lot to afford.
