Advice For Kids: Stand Up To Bullies

... term consequences of bullying include poor mental and physical healthOn the Job by Anita Bruzzese: The Bully at Work

As soon as someone starts making fun of you, or threatening you, stop them dead in their tracks. Face your worst fear. Easier said then done right? I agree. It will be one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make. But what's the worst thing a bully can do? Punch you? Beat you up? Cut you down, call you gay? Seriously.

The longer it goes on the worse it gets, and the smaller your world becomes. The pain of being teased, tripped, or torchered everyday is much more painful than being punched in the face a few times. I promise you that. But allowing another person to steal your pride day after day is life altering. You can't get the time back and it kills your confidence going forward in life.

So, tell someone. Tell anyone you respect, and stop the destruction of your world before it goes too far. You're not a "pussy" if you tell your parents, your brother, or a counselor. You're a "bad-ass," because you are owning your future. Don't leave it in the hands of someone who hates their life, keep it in the arms of someone who cherishes their own.
