Info I passed along yesterday had the Masahiro Tanaka sweepstakes coming down to the Yankees and Cubs.
I was told today that may not be the case after all.
I was able to check in with two other well-placed sources who both think the Dodgers are still very much a part of this.
One of those sources would even consider it a surprise if Tanaka ended up with the Cubs.
Part of the thinking along, regarding the previous Dodgers info, was why would they pay a number three that kind of money? They just paid out big money to Clayton Kershaw and still have to re-up Hanley Ramirez for a hefty price.
It seems the new Yankees of the west don't have to worry about those issues.
