Phil Rogers thinks Jim Hendry's job will be on the line because of a lack of pitching depth?
Really Phil? That's what gets him fired?
Rogers says Hendry had to first unload pitchers Ted Lilly and Tom Gorzelanny to go after Matt Garza, due to the financial situation he put the Cubs in.
Tom Rikcetts apparently wouldn't help cover up some of the mistakes with more money.
That isn't exactly news. Ricketts hasn't been willing to throw money at the problem since he took over.
It surprised me that he was even willing to eat the Carlos Silva money.
Now pitching depth aside, no one could predict the Cubs could lose 3/5 of their rotation before Memorial Day. I would like to see what the rotation would look like with a healthy Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner.
Ryan Dempster's slide aside, I think the Cubs would be a little higher in the standings. The Cubs #4 and #5 pitchers so far are a combined (4-10).
B-Jax coming soon?
As for Marlon Byrd's injury, he could be out a while.
