Cubs fall to the Cards
But there's a silver lining
They will clinch at home
I'll keep this short.
The Cubs struck first, with a home run from Dexter Fowler to start the game, and Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia was pulled early. But the Cubs couldn't take advantage when Alex Reyes walked them 6 times in 4-1/3 innings. It's tough to win when your offense goes only 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. When the game was over, the Cubs had lost 4-2.
But I'm not sure many Cubs fan care. Because Tuesday night's loss means the Cubs will clinch the National League Central title at Wrigley Field during their final home stand of the regular season.
Are you one of the lucky fans who has a ticket for Thursday's game against the Brewers? You might be in for a very exciting night.
