Kerry was shaky
But Sean and Carlos combine
To shut down the Sox

Here's what happened:

Leading, 3-0, the Cubs used their three best relievers to escape the eighth. Kerry Wood gave up one-out singles to Mark Teahen, who later scored on a wild pitch, and Gordon Beckham. He then walked pinch-hitter Paul Konerko and was pulled for Sean Marshall with the tying run on first. Marshall got Juan Pierre to foul out, and closer Carlos Marmol came in and struck out Alexei Ramirez to end the threat. Marmol then pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 17th save.
