Cubs In Haiku: Great Weather, Bad Baseball

Sunny in Mesa
85 degrees, clear skies
Abysmal baseball

We've seen two games so far, and while the weather's been great the Cubs have not looked good.  Remember when Alfonso Soriano would throw out runners trying to score from third on fly balls to left?  On Tuesday he threw the ball into the third base dugout instead, allowing two runs to score.  Add in the poor defense and lack of hitting, and even the decent pitching we've seen is not enough to win ball games.

On Tuesday the Cubs did manage to beat Oakland, but we were at HoHoKam watching them lose to the Rockies.

Today it's Cubs vs. Oakland in Phoenix.  Hopefully the day off did the team some good and we'll see better baseball than we did earlier this week.

Thanks to my Spring Training host, Michael Rosenblum, for composing today's haiku.
