It was swing from the heels night in eastern Tennessee as the Lookouts and Smokies combined for 29 hits, as a bullpen collapse in the ninth doomed Tennesse. A two-run blast by Jason Vosler in the fifth inning brought the Smokies to within one at 5-4. The game looked secure in the bottom of the eighth when seven Tennessee players paraded across home to make the score 11-6, as Trey Martin capped the inning with a three-run double. But Craig Brooks was all over the place as he walked three, gave up two hits, and uncorked a wild pitch as he recorded one out and allowed two runs.  James Norwood replaced Brooks and promptly walked in two more runs and let in two moreon a sac fly and single before the inning was mercifully ended by Ryan McNeil.

  • Thanks for filling in Tom & nicely done! Love the minors recaps.

  • In reply to Milk Stout:

Thanks! It was a little wobbly getting back on this bike, but I think I have my feet under me now.

  • Good stuff Tom. Love that Tseng worked thru not having his best stuff. Glad to see Tyson Miller almost get a quality start (missed by 1 out). Love to see the young pitchers get better and grow.

  • In reply to Gator:

    Thank you!
