Photo Gallery: Your 2013 Kane County Cougars

I will be out all day today in Bloomington-Normal watching my niece compete in a state gymnastics tournament so I may not be able to get a preview in.  So in the meantime, here's some photos of your 2013 Kane County Cougars

  • Wow, I don't no if its me or the angles of the photos, but Vogelbach has really changed his body composition.

I think sometimes we forget he's only what? 20? There could have been alot of baby fat and now he's actually growing into an adults body

  • I just got paid $6784 working off my laptop this month. And if you think that's cool, my divorced friend has twin toddlers and made over $9k her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less. This is what I do, www.Bam21.cℴm

    Good luck to your niece!!!

  • My daughter has here state Gymnastic meet on Sunday.

  • I'd love to have been a fly on the wall to hear whatever Rahm said to Tunney this week. Alderman Tunney is singing a different tune this morning, eh?

Yeah, quite a turnaround. For those who haven't seen it yet:

The excerpt that matters most to Cubs Den readership:

A former major league GM who is currently scouting for another franchise spoke volumes about the thoughts around baseball now that the Cubs appear to have their stadium deal done.

"Tom Ricketts has always said that after expenses all of the remaining revenues will be reinvested into the baseball operations department," he said. "The thought of Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer and a big pile of money is a scary thought. I never thought I would say this but the Cubs are finally going to be the powerhouse that they should have been a long time ago."

  • In reply to Taft:

In practical terms, it means that by the time our young nucleus has earned lucrative extensions, there will be plenty of money to keep them in Cub uniforms, plus enough left over to patch up any gaps through free agency. By the end of this decade, we should have a perennial title contender on the North Side.

  • John, can't wait to hear what you think of Vogelbach's D after seeing him a few times at first base considering he is a bit more trim. I'm hoping his hard work translates to at least better than average D.

For what it's worth, I thought he looked fine last night. I don't think he had to do anything spectacular last night, so it's going to be a long-term observation on his defensive ability.

If anything, I thought Candelario looked very good at 3rd. I think his ability to stay at 3rd has been called into question, and I thought he looked very smooth there.
