Cubs Den outing at Kane County vs. Peoria

If anyone is in the western suburbs and wants to catch Zeke DeVoss, Marco Hernandez, Taiwan Eastering, Ben Wells, and some of the other Cubs prospects at Class A, I'll be going to the game on Friday night (6:30 pm).  I still may go Wednesday and Thursday as well if I can make some arrangements.

If you can't make it this week, I'll be there again on June 2nd and 3rd, which is a Saturday and Sunday -- and possibly Monday if I can drag Tom to go with me.

C'mon out and we'll have a beer before and/or after the game.  Or maybe you'll be sitting somewhere near...

  • After you watch these games please give us your option of
which of the prospects are the real deal (i.e., Easterley)

  • In reply to emartinezjr:

Will do. I plan on seeing at least 4 games.

  • John, my wife and I bought all the Peoria Chiefs tickets when they play at Kane County. It was an awesome ticket package we bought at the Cubs Convention. We were there opening day and ran into Kevin Goldstein.

  • In reply to WillieG1:

Nice. I wish I would have gotten that package.

Goldstein lives not to far from there. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet him myself. He was at the U of C on Friday but I'd already made other plans.

Hope to see you there. I'll give more details as it gets closer to Friday.

  • This is a distinct possibility. Where are you getting dinner?

  • In reply to Eddie:

I don't know. Not that familiar with the area. Any suggestions?

  • In reply to John Arguello:

Yeah I'd check out the "Roundhouse" restaurant in downtown Aurora. It's an upscale bar and grill type place, owned by the Two Brothers brewing company. It's one of the few interesting, non chain restaurants you'll find out in Kane county, and it's close to I-88, which I assume is how you'll be getting there. The stadium is practically due North about 10 miles away.

  • You may also want to check out the Country House, which is about 5 minutes from the stadium just south on Kirk. Intersection of Kirk and Fabyian Pkwy. I recommend the Ostrich burger. Very tasty! Good beers on tap as well.
