Ever wonder what it's like to step out onto Wrigley Field? Or take a swing in the batting cages? Maybe chum around in the locker room or dugout? For those of us who can't throw a 95 mph fastball, turn a double play, or hit a 450 foot home run, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is offering a once in a lifetime opportunity through two special events to be held on May 19th at Wrigley Field. The best part? It's all for a good cause -- to come through in the clutch and help pave the way to victory in the fight against diabetes.
As Cub fans, we all know that one of our own, Ron Santo, battled diabetes and the complications that result from this relentless disease for much of his adult life. There is no better way to honor one of the most beloved Cubs greats than to help carry on his fight. Santo frequently lauded the work of the JDRF. He saw first-hand how their hard work and contributions to diabetes research made a huge difference in his life and the lives of others. He also understood the importance of carrying on that work so that future generations can see even greater breakthroughs in the treatment and cure of diabetes.
Here are some great ways you can contribute and make a difference...
