Race week, 13.1 Chicago edition...

How was the weekend? Everyone enjoy it? My bright spot came after buying new shorts, my first new shorts since losing weight. I tweeted about it, but I’ve officially lost 16inches around my waist! I know I’ve got work to do, but that’s awesome! We had a nice weekend, my long run went alright. Yesterday’s... Read more »

Healthy Hump Day- things I've learned along the way.
Coach Jen shared my post yesterday and someone posted a comment, asking if I’d do a post on nutrition, some things I’ve learned or things that work for me. I thought it was a good idea to share some things I’ve learned, so here we go! Over the last year and a half I’ve learned... Read more »

My weight loss through pictures...
Looking back, I probably could have kept better track of my weight loss progress with pics along the way. The first “official” progress pics Pam and I took were in January 2010. I was down 60lbs at that point. I’ve been thinking about posting another progress pic, but have been busy with everything going on.... Read more »

Dizziness on the long run...again...

A nice reminder...
A running friend and I have been talking about being in a rut, or maybe lacking motivation to get out the door lately. I personally feel like I’m going through the motions with training. I really enjoyed Coach Jen‘s post the other day, about laziness and training and it got me thinking. I don’t think... Read more »

Are you lazy?

Are you lazy?
Today’s post comes from Coach Jen Harrison! Jen has posted here before but I thought it was about time to have her share some of her wisdom again. Go read her blog and go vote for her here! In the September 2009 issue of Triathlete, Matt Fitzgerald has an article in there that hit the... Read more »

long run / weekend recap...

I’ve decided, making Saturday my long run day is the way to go! I enjoyed having yesterday off, and our biggest priority was grocery shopping. For now,my 2-3 hour runs, if I can get out by 5 am, for say a 3 hour run, I can be home in plenty of time for Pam to... Read more »

Weekend preview...

This morning I got out for my 45:00 run and ran some drills…sprints, high knees, skipping and butt kicks. And keeping with run drill tradition, I ran into two women walking. And of course they asked what I was doing. Oh well…it’s a bit of a tradition now I suppose. I was moving a bit... Read more »
