on the way...

If I’ve done this right, you’re reading this as I am on my way to Champaign for the Illinois Marathon tomorrow.  Technically this is my second trip back there since Pam, K and I moved to Chicago.  I went down for my former employer’s company holiday party.  It was a quick 18 hour trip.  This... weigh-in wednesday, week 29 results...

Results are in..down 1.7lbs this week, for a 29 week total of 79 lbs lost! I’m happy with the progress and to be honest, with how much I’ve lost I toyed with the idea of upping the weight loss goal on the commute in this morning. I thought about aiming for a goal weight of... Read more »

Earlier I talked about PG’s cardiology appointment…well, after a two hour appointment, all is well!  It’s such a HUGE relief to know she’s fine.  She has what her cardiologist calls an innocent murmur and she’ll grow out of it! PG was such a trooper.  She did pretty well with all the tests.  It’s got to... Read more »

It’s official, team cubicle is set for the Illinois Marathon relay this Saturday!  As I think I’ve said before, I’m excited and nervous. I’m excited to go back and visit with friends, folks I haven’t seen really since we moved back to Chicago.  As I spent 14 years in Champaign- Urbana, it feels like a... Read more »

the week ahead, it's race week!

I’m thankful today is a rest day.  After yesterday, my legs are hurting.  And so is my foot.  My podiatrist, or torturer, treated the wart with something strong, and today it’s sore.  Like, hard to walk on it sore.  I’ll be fine, it’s been like this after every treatment and I have no reason to... While some folks are just getting their training really under way this weekend, Dave from Pace of Chicago, Phil from Going the Distance and I headed out to take on “The Hill” this morning.  When I pulled up to the driveway at the top at 2 til 7:00, Dave was already starting.  I took the... some awesome and some pain...

Monday I streamed the Boston Marathon, watching some but listening as I worked.  I was in awe.  Both at the lead the eventual women’s winner, Teyba Erkesso had built and then nearly lost and by the scorching pace the men were racing at.  Ryan Hall lead the charge early, with 4:50 miles!  Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot...
