CTA enters final stretch of Wells Street Bridge work

Workers finish removing much of the track that's being replaced on Saturday afternoon, many new wooden track ties are in place and prepare to begin installing new track.
CTA workers reportedly are ahead of schedule in replacing the south side of the Wells Street Bridge. Work is supposed to be wrapped up by 4 a.m. next Monday before the morning rush hour. I have fallen a bit behind showing the “after” photos of the newly rehabbed Berwyn and Lawrence stations on the CTA’s Red Line. Berwyn looks very similar to the other stations, with a bright, expanded stationhouse, more turnstiles, and a concrete platform. Photos are from the CTA Flickr set. But not so much at Lawrence.... Argyle closing late Friday for six weeks; Loop "L" work this weekend
