One last ride on the Red Line south before construction

The CTA Connections video crew took a ride on the Red Line south just before it shut down for construction on May 19. The ride from Roosevelt to 95th Street station and back lasted an average of 32 minutes. The CTA says when the tracks and rail bed are rebuilt by mid-October, about 10 minutes will be shaved off the trip each way.

Now THAT would be awesome.

  • If only the actual ride was this fast!

  • Quite obviously someone was in the motor cab with the motorman/operator

  • In reply to ibilldavis:

Or it was just a camera in the cab.

  • Here is video of the Ryan West-South route, what it was called in the 70s when it was 55 MPH with no slow zones.
