CTA Holiday Train will have a "Blue (Line) Christmas" this weekend

Elvis Presley will not be singing on the CTA's Holiday Train this weekend, but it will be a "Blue (Line) Christmas" for revelers starting Thursday.

The festivities will start at 3:16 p.m. at the O'Hare station on the Blue Line Thursday and work its way to Forest Park. The Holiday Train will then leave from Forest Park at 4:56 p.m. to return to O'Hare. If you're working in the Loop and heading north toward O'Hare, plan to pick up the train between 5:25 p.m at Jackson and 5:30 p.m. at Clark/Lake. There's really nothing like seeing the Holiday Train roll into the station by surprise after a hard day's work.

Here's the detailed Thursday and Friday schedule. Friday's round-tripper starts an hour later than Thursday from O'Hare at 4:16 p.m.

Saturday is Santa's hard-working day. He starts with photos for kids of all ages from 1:20 to 2 p.m. at 54th/Cermak on the Pink Line. Then he heads to Forest Park station on the Blue Line for more photos from 3 to 3:40 p.m. He leaves Forest Park at 3:51 p.m. Here's the detailed schedule for Saturday. Santa has an  hourlong photo session at O'Hare starting at 5:20 p.m.
