CTA's Holiday Train debuts on Green, Orange lines this weekend

Forgot about those increases in CTA passes for now, because it's time for the CTA Holiday Train!

The popular train decorated to the nines in holiday fare with Santa riding an open sleigh in the middle will leave from Midway on its maiden voyage at 3:07 p.m. Friday. It will pick up the Green Line route at Roosevelt and follow it to Harlem/Lake. Then it goes back into the Loop and on to Cottage Grove. Finally it heads to the Loop again and then back home to Midway for the night.

On Saturday, it's all Green Line, starting with photos with Santa. Get photos with Santa at the following stations, at the following times:

  • Harlem/Lake: 1:15pm – 2pm
  • Ashland/63rd: 3:15pm – 4pm
  • Cottage Grove: 4:45pm – 5:15pm

Have a great time, and send us some photos!

  • At least the Second District got at 1 p.m. the Holiday Surprise Scooter was talking about.

Now is anyone here going insist that the successor take a stand for getting money for transit on the south side? Mike Flannery reported that both Daley and Emanuel were teed at Jackson for not doing anything in that regard.
