  • That Brown Line rehab is really holding up, isn't it?????

  • In reply to jack:

I fail to see your logic. If I recall, the Brown Line rehab was to make the stations accessible and long enough to accommodate 8-car trains. They didn't rebuild or rehab the track, except where needed to add new crossovers. According to this alert, this 39-hour shutdown is for track maintenance.

  • Thanks District. I was going to say just that, but you bet me to it.

  • So if anonymous #2175 from District 299 is correct, another incremental project that cost 1/2 billion which did not got the CTA into a state of good repair. Even though that supposedly is CTA's goal.

Heck, if $8 billion rained down from the sky tomorrow, like Claypool wants, CTA would still never get into a state of good repair.

  • The system is over 100 years old. It requires continuing and ongoing maintainance to keep it running.

  • CTA did this same closure this past weekend. Absolute geniuses shutting things down on St Pats. There were approx a bazillion people waiting for the buses at southport

  • Cap video: Cliche. Cf. my comment of 10 days ago, and whateva's of 2 hours ago.
