CTA's Claypool honors Brit for completing "L Challenge"

Once again, CTA President Forrest Claypool has recognized a person for traveling through every CTA rail station in a single day.

In August, Claypool honored three students for completing the "L Challenge." Now the British man who inspired the students and holds the unofficial record has earned his day in the spotlight. Adham Fisher recently received a commemorative CTA sign emblazoned with his name, plus a personal congratulations letter from Claypool. In the photo below, Fisher poses with his commemorative sign mounted at Leicester station.

Fisher told his own story earlier this year of traversing through all L station in 9 hours, 36 minutes and 33 seconds.

His daylong trek also caught the eye (or ear?) of Outside the Loop radio and his local newspaper in Great Britain. And in August, Fisher visited all Paris Metro stations in 13 hours, 37 minutes, 54 seconds. To mark the occasion, he recorded a song posted on YouTube.

Finally, Fisher has asked to leave us on this sentiment.

  • Of course, he can't propose a budget on time, but we know what is "important" here on the Tattler, and probably to Claypool.
