"Please move all the way in" - and make room for the schoolkids

Your CTA bus or train ride might feel just a bit more crowded today as Chicago Public School students head back to class for the fall.

The CTA provides about 150,000 rides per day for students using reduced fare cards and permits, with CPS students taking about 100,000 of those.

Perhaps boarding will be a little more expeditious today, as the CTA provides free rides for the kids on this first day of school. But the deal is for Tuesday only.

And maybe the free rides for senior citizens might actually end this week too?
