One injured, 200 evacuated from derailed Blue Line train near O'Hare

At least one passenger suffered minor injuries and 200 were safely evacuated today from a Blue Line train that derailed in the tunnel outside the O'Hare airport terminal.

The Tribune reports the derailment occurred at 4:47 p.m. as the southbound train leaving O'Hare went over an interlocking switch. A woman incurred minor injuries and the other passengers walked back to the terminal to ride shuttle buses.

As of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, shuttle buses took passengers between O'Hare and the Rosemont station. Blue Line otherwise were operating. But at least one #CTA tweeter warned to avoid the CTA because the system was "crazy jacked up."

I will provide updates as warranted.

UPDATE: At 7:30 p.m., WBBM radio was reporting Blue Line service on a single track was restored.
