  • Kevin - Is the CTA seriously going to assign the new 5000 series cars to replace the older cars (3200series) on the Brown and Yellow lines? Seems like a poor allocation to me. Then are they going to shift the Brown Line's 3200 cars to the Blue Line? Or are they going to shift everything around?

I'm curious because I really dislike the configuration of the 5000s (I got dizzy and had backaches after each ride on the test cars). I confess, I'm a Brown Line rider and I was happier when I thought they were going to replace the oldest cars on the Blue Line.

I have heard that the CTA plans to replace the old cars on the Blue Line.

Well, I thought Blue line, too. Until I read the CTA's accomplishments press release and saw that the new trains were going to replace trains on the Brown and yellow lines.
