Lots of Santas brighten the Blue Line over the weekend

CTA employees donated about 300 food baskets this year to 16 local community organizations. On Saturday, CTA President Richard Rodriguez boarded the Holiday Train on the Blue Line and made personal deliveries in Logan Square to New Life Community Church, Liberty Christian Center, Humboldt Park Social Services and the Spanish Coalition for Housing.

Each food basket contains all the ingredients for a complete meal including a canned ham, potatoes, mixed vegetables, muffin mix, macaroni and cheese, fruit cocktail, green beans and corn, according to the CTA. Employees donate time and money to buy the groceries and make up the baskets.

Meanwhile, also on Saturday a group of Santas boarded a regular Blue Line train headed for some kind of Saturday night fun. Tattler reader Erin said they were "coy about where they were headed, but decidedly forward about inviting women to sit on their respective laps." Erin shares this photo.
