Meet the most nervous man in Chicago

My daughter got up from her Red Line seat and walked down the aisle to the door.

As she walked past a well-dressed elderly gentleman, he stamped his feet, hooted, and exclaimed in a sing-song voice:

"Girl, your father must be the most nervous man in Chicago!"

Um, yeah, now I really am.

  • Hmmm, I thought I read this before...

  • Nope, this happened yesterday to my daughter, so I don't think you could have read it before.

  • Except that you were so nervous you posted twice. :)

  • Oh, now I get it! Thanks for formally pointing that out Martha. I deleted the double post.

  • See my post about men not speaking to women in public. Annoying when strange men think they can talk to a single woman. It pisses me off because if the singleton were with a friend, boyfriend, husband, partner, group of friends, the guy wouldn't say jack sh--, but if a young woman is solo, she's fair game? Yeah, I call bs.

  • Walking with my daughter we had the guy who had to comment (loudly) "oh yeah, she's your's all right, looks just like you"
Granted, not the first time this has ever been noted to us, but I wonder, if you're walking with a child who doesn't look like you does he feel the need to comment "hmm, wonder where that child came from, doesn't look a thing like you!"?
