I've been blogging about all things seen and heard on the CTA for seven years.

The author of that piece seemed to summarize the issue on bus bunching well. Plenty of comments on that blog regarding it too.
Ugh... I hate the RedEye...
Some of the people they quoted on there are unbelievable. Nominating the Belmont stop for WORST station? Complaining about the 156 bus when it runs on like 2 minute intervals at rush hour?
Hi Chris,
I appreciate you checking out our page. I posted all the submissions I got via e-mail and Twitter. Everyone gets a say in this contest.
Please feel free to comment on the post, so I can track your vote, or send me an e-mail at tswartz@tribune.com.
Thanks,
Tracy
Thanks, I like what you're trying to do, but I don't want to be lumped in with all the other stupid complaints on there. Some of them are just completely unrealistic.
I'd prefer a poll type system anyway, in which case I'd nominate the Wilson Red Line stop for worst station, mainly because it could be very beautiful but it's not.
Chris, your timing is impeccable. I just added six comments about the Wilson Red Line stop to the ballot, www.redeyechicago.com/ctaworst ... Contest isn't over yet but that station has taken the clear lead.
Thanks,
Tracy
Interesting that most of the complaints about bus routes revolve around those that operate on heavily-trafficked single-lane streets and have frequently heavy passenger loading/unloading (i.e. 22, 36, 81). I'm glad a bus operator weighed in with his perception of passengers' behavior and treatment of the bus as a rolling trash bin. It would be a refreshing change if RedEye would have a best station and best route contest. I've spent part of the summer in various transit deserts. I'm glad to be home, but I sure did like that BRT in Cleveland! No way Chicago will ever pull that off.
Hi Martha,
"Going Public" will be holding a best CTA line and bus route contest later this year, and I accept CTA worker commendations year-round. Feel free to send me an e-mail, Tweet, or note via carrier pigeon.
Thanks,
Tracy
