No Blue Line work this weekend; Wellington station to open July 30

Crews working on slow zones on the Blue Line will get the weekend off, with big crowds expected at Venetian Night on Saturday. That work will resume next weekend.

However, track maintenance work on the Blue Line's Forest Park branch means a single track will be in operation between the Western and Kedzie stations Friday night and throughout the weekend.

Wellington finally opens. The last Brown Line station to be rehabbed will reopen on July 30. Wellington has been closed for 16 months. In that time the platforms were lengthened to accommodate eight-car trains, an elevator was installed, and an exit built to Nelson Street.

  • Still don't think that the Wellington station should reopen. Too late now I guess.

  • Re-opening Wellington is far more important than reopening the Washington Red Line station... ;)
