As the Grand Red Line construction project enters Stage 2, riders will enter and exit at one new corner, as another is shuttered. But for the busy July 3-5 holiday weekend, three of the four entrances will serve the madding crowd.
However, don't get too used to three of the four entrances being open for the first time in a year. On Monday, July 6, the northwest entrance closes, and we're back to using the old northeast entrance. But the new southeast entrance will be put into service.
As I reported earlier, in Stage 2, two new staircases to the north- and southbound
platforms will open. The current southbound stair and escalator from
mezzanine to platform will be temporarily closed. Both will be
renovated/replaced and reopen at the end of Phase 2.
