Review: Jack's Pumpkin Glow (2019)

The Halloween season is in full swing and Team Gregula has been plenty busy with all the festive events taking place in the Chicago area. Most places we go to are pretty darn terrifying, and the haunts are scary too HAHA. But sometimes you just want to have a unique experience that's spooky and family-friendly and we found both at Jack's Pumpkin Glow. This event created by Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group (yes the same ghouls who operate the 13th Floor Haunted Houses throughout the country) is making its Chicago-area debut this year.

Located in the Sensory Garden Playground in Lisle, IL, Jack's Pumpkin Glow is a veritable wonderland of glowing gourds. From the entrance and throughout the park we see hundreds and hundreds of carved pumpkins lit up in multiple colors brightening up the night.

As we walked down the dark trail, we saw many different themed displays, along with colorful lights and appropriate music. From basic face carvings to intricate sculptures, there was something for everyone.

There was a spooky cemetery, a full pirate ship with glowing sea creatures surrounding it and even an eerie winter holiday/Christmas scene!

Jack's Pumpkin Glow was a joy for kids of all ages and Team Gregula was impressed. We hope that the Glow comes back next year!
