2018 Team Gregula Year In Review

2018 Team Gregula Year In Review

Vell, here is my annual Year in Review. It is time to lay 2018 to rest. Once again I include some of the most engaging events and important individuals that have ghoulishly graced my afterlife throughout this long year. Keep reading below for a macabre month-by-month recap of select events from 2018. Cheers!

Team Gregula revisited an old favorite by covering the 2018 Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, RV & Strictly Sail Show and dreamt about the sizzling summer days ahead.

As an early treat,Team Gregula vas invited to make our first official appearance of the year at the Zombie Dust Tapping Undead Party at Celtic Crown Public House. On VAMPentine's Day, Countess Gregula and I vent to Navy Pier to take a complimentary ride on the Centennial Wheel and enjoy a heart-shaped pizza for dinner. Countess and I make a second trip to Navy Pier this month for Cider Summit Chicago inside the Aon Grand Ballroom. Yay for ciders! I made the list once again for a Rondo Award and vas nominated for Favorite Horor Host of 2017. Last but not least, ve celebrated the Year of the Dog at a Chinese New Year celebration at DePaul University that included fiendish food and a splendid show!

This entire month vas spent moving to a new Crypt. No events attended.

After our big move, it vas time to get back to Gregula business. A Triple Play of Terror Treats happened all on the same veekend that included Countess Gregula's Boo-Day, C2E2 and Walker Stalker Fan Fest Chicago. Bonus points for Countess getting a special boo-day greeting from Tom Kenny the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants!

May vas a month full of fun food and delicious drinks. Our second Chicago Beer Classic had us drinking again inside Soldier Field. The highlight of May, if not the year vas the National Restaurant Association show at McCormick Place. Four days of exploring restaurant equipment along vith consuming all kinds of food and drink! Plus, ve simultaneously covered the Sweets & Snacks Expo during the last two days of the NRA Show.

As ve slid into the sizzling summer ve made the trip to Rosemont for some sexy sights at EXXXOTICA Expo Chicago.

July brought along convention coverage at our annual visit to Anime Midwest.

Wizard World Comic Con Chicago once again flew into town. My interviews included Michael Rooker of The Walking Dead and Barry Bostwick of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then ve vent on our yearly hot hikes to the Bristol Ren Faire and the Wisconsin State Fair both located in that cheesy state.

As usual, haunted house season begins vith some early media visits to a select few lurid locations such as 13th Floor Chicago and Midnight Terror Haunted House. My Boo-Day celebrations on September 30th sent us over to our annual daytime trip to Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm and then an evening excursion to eat at White Fence Farm.

Team Gregula's favorite month of the year vas full of fiendish frights. There vere many haunts to tour such as our regular visits to House of Torment Chicago, Hair Razor Haunted Scenes and Evil Intentions Haunted House. The macabre month ended vith Count & Countess (dressed as a priest and nun respectively) going on a last minute trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Halloween Night to vatch a makeup concert by the band Ghost!

A second Ghost concert began this month vith a Meet and Greet vith Cardinal Copia. Night of the Stripping Dead made a unique move to November this year. So, of corpse, Team Gregula had to go cover the 10th and sadly last edition of the sexy show held at the legendary Admiral Theatre hosted this time by Bill Moseley. Ve shambled back to Schaumburg to dig up devilish delights at Days of the Dead. Ghoulish guests this year of fear included Bill Moseley (back in Chicago), Traci Lords and Paul Sorvino to name just a few.

The last month of 2018 vas full of parties and scary people! At the beginning of December, ve vent to a holiday haunt called Krampus: A Haunted Christmas to meet Krampus himself. Ho Ho Horror! For festive fun, Countess & I vere invited to a few parties vith our fiends (Jessica's gift exchange party, Aunt Donna's annual party on Christmas Day and Dexter's Friendsmas).

NOTE: This is a critically condensed compilation from the very beast of 2018. Special FANGS to Team Gregula (Countess Gregula, Grim Marco, Cousin Jessi, Cousin Zom B. vith Scary Girl and KG the Voodoo Queen) along vith assistant photographers Michael and Patricia Wilson for all the helping claws throughout the year.

Be ghoul to yourself and each other in the new year. Happy 2019!
