Well, 2018 is here, man it’s so weird to see 20 instead of 19 in these dates, I’ll guess I’ll skip it and just call it ‘18. Being dead for almost 40 years these dates can really throw you off. Well anyway, my friend Count Gregula and the Countess had some sort of tap party, not sure what that means. All their friends at Team Gregula were invited, Cousin Jessie which is older than any of us and Grim Marco which is ageless were there for a beer called “Zombie Dust” which is perfect for me. I was surprised to learn it’s made by a company, get this, located in Indiana called “3 Floyds Brewing”. Boy what a time to come back from the grave, right? I'm finding out there are other breweries everywhere now and not just in Colorado and Wisconsin.
We were called over to a bar called Celtic Crown Public House on N. Western Ave. this bar has more history than Mayor Bilandic. Part of it was used as a speakeasy in the days of probation, It’s also one of the oldest bars in Chicago. After multiple renovations and decades of redesign, you would never have guessed it. The Crown is proud to have liquor license #73 from the city of Chicago and still retains it to this day.
Team Gregula was not there alone, other special guests were there. Michelle Gore horror makeup artist that runs the ‘More Gore’ brand was on hand to create any normal looking person into a horror creation and Chicago Costume Company spent their time to help decorate the basement lounge to give it a more intense creepy aesthetic. If that is not enough zombie icing on the cake, George Romero’s Night of the living dead 30th Anniversary Edition and immediately after that the 1990 Tom Savini version was playing on the screams.. I mean screens. It was a night if fantastic zombie action, we even got a small preview of an upcoming web series “My Ultimate Horror” by GenisX Media Group. Thank you to Kristen Green and The Crown for having us over and expect to see more bar appearances from Team Gregula soon.
