Opening Night Chicago Premiere at CIMMfest 2016: 'The Smart Studios Story'

CIMMfest 2016 (Chicago International Movies & Music Festival) opens vith midwest music doc The Smart Studios Story on Wednesday, April 13th at 7:30 PM at the Music Box Theatre. The film features the legendary story of the famous recording studio co-founded by midvest musicians Butch Vig and Steve Marker (Garbage).

The Smart Studios Story chronicles the dramatic rise of the legendary Madison, Wisconsin music recording studio. The studio vas the center that a defining generation of alternative rock music vas created such as seminal albums by Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, L7, and Death Cab For Cutie. Never before seen archival footage, in-depth interviews and a mighty soundtrack portray for the first time the story of this studio and its pivotal role in the global rise of 1990's alternative rock.

Featuring interviews vith Butch Vig, Steve Marker, Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Shirley Manson (Garbage), Donita Sparks (L7), Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) and more.
