Review: Six Flags Great America Fright Fest 2015

Review: Six Flags Great America Fright Fest 2015

Vell, as in every October for more than a decade now, Team Gregula vent on our annual terror trip to Six Flags Great America Fright Fest. The 2015 scare season at the amusement park is billed as being on scare-oids. Ha! Featuring extended hours on veekends vith SIX haunted attractions and SIX frightful shows over SIX veekends. The complete terrifying transformation of this 100-acre theme park creates a dark and forboding atmosphere for our putrid pleasure.

There are Thrills By Day. Such as the Character Candy Trail in the Mardi Gras area every Saturday and Sunday. The park also has kid friendly themed areas that are scare-free zones like Camp Cartoon, Kidzopolis and Hometown Park. These areas are open from 11 AM – 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The 25th season of Love At First Fright is another fang-mily favorite musical for all ages.

However, the Fright By Night attractions are the horrific happenings ve most lurk forvard to each year at Fright Fest! There are several additions this year to the fear. Read on.

Nox is the newest dismember to the Fright Fest Character lineup. The noxious Nox is the overlord of Fright Fest and oversees all 300 characters in the park and resides in the new Gates of Hell haunted attraction. The Gates of Hell features 6 different haunted experiences in one all surrounded by the House of Torment (formerly Mausoleum of Terror) that Nox calls home.

Another new haunted attraction is the Apocalypse: Zombie Experience. The zombies have taken over and are starving for human flesh. There is an option to reach the next level by renting a machine gun to shoot the zombies before they bite. Ve just decided to try to outrun the zombies vithout the help of the heavy artillery.

I really vas impressed by the other new attraction called LightMosFEAR. This spook-tacular lightshow is set up in front of the double-decked carousels. The lightshow is even accompanied by musical favorites such as Rob Zombie's Dragula vith over 70,000 points of light and 500 channels of animation that included flames.

Returning classic haunted attrations are the Fear Haunted House, The Abyss, Massacre Medical Center and Manslaughter Manor. All ghoul ones!

All in all, Team Gregula spent an entire Saturday from 11AM-12AM at Fright Fest. First riding our favorite rides such as The Dark Knight, Black Widow: The American Eagle, Demon and several others till around 6 PM. After that ve vent through and seen all the aforementioned haunted attractions. Each fright made all our senses tingle in delight!

Fright Fest remains family-friendly until 6 PM vith the children’s areas as scare-free zones and a trick-or-treat trail in Apocalypse.

Fright Fest haunted house vristbands provide an unlimited day of access to all six Fright Fest attractions. For more information, visit Haunted mazes and houses are not included in general admission.
