Yes kids, it's after midnight and Da Count and I have survived the very first day of Anime Central 2013 aka ACen and so far so good!
We did arrive rather late in the day due to some events beyond our control but after a satisfying lunch from the deli counter at Jewel, we took in an interesting panel (FUNimation Town Hall) where anime videos and the accessibility of anime releases in North America were discussed. Afterwards we hit up the HUGE vendor hall where there were tons of anime and pop culture merchandise to be offered.
The best part of ACen is the sheer amount of people cosplaying as various video game and anime characters, however since I am not a hardcore fan of the genre I didn't really know what many of them were dressed as. I did recognize a few Doctor Who's, some Harley Quinns and quite a few Nintendo characters. It was a veritable rainbow display of brightly colored costumes, with tails and bells on!
After a very reasonable dinner in the lobby at the Hyatt (hamburgers and sausage sandwiches) we made our way downstairs for a panel on creating your own comics and a Dragonball Z related one.
Now we are at the Hilton ready to go home in a few minutes, visited the video gaming area where they have full arcade games as well as at home console gaming machines which was also fun. It was a good and busy day, and now I must sign off...but I will give the day **TWO FANGS UP**!
