What can I say? I had a wildly awesome couchsurfer from Germany, currently volunteering in San Francisco, who came to Chicago to stay with me over the weekend. He was thrilled to be here and super excited to go and check out Boystown. I am a hop, skip and a jump from the nightlife of Halsted Street.
I invited some other friends along and we decided to go bar hopping Saturday night. We hit multiple bars and came upon a bar with a little stripping action going on. That was interesting, to say the least, and a little too racy to post any details or photos here! We ended our night at Hydrate for some wild and sweaty dancing until the wee hours of the morning.
Sunday afternoon was spent being tourists, hitting such hot spots as Millenium Park, Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier. Not terribly exciting in the winter, but the architecture and tall buildings were enough for this guy!
The culmination of his stay, Sunday evening, was spent at the Kit Kat Lounge, one of my favorite bars in the city of Chicago. The diva of the evening was absolutely amazing, and really got my couchsurfer dancing footloose and fancy-free when she came out as Lady Gaga. She made his night! We had a blast and I hope to visit him in San Francisco this summer.
