This week in space includes astronomy and space club meetings throughout the Chicago suburbs, a spacewalk, and Chicago museum events! As the days warm up, opportunities to observe the night sky comfortably get closer so be sure to take advantage of the knowledge being shared by your local astronomy clubs!
The following events are what's happening this week in space!
Astronomy Fundamentals with Naperville Astronomical Association, Naperville Municipal Center, Tuesday, March 19th, 7:30 pm
Each month the Naperville Astronomical Association offers free astronomy fundamental classes with experienced amateur astronomers. These are a great way to begin observing with the support of knowledgeable club members. Find out more about the club here: NAA Event Page
Adler After Dark, Adler Planetarium, Thursday, March 21st, 6pm-10pm
Adler's monthly, adults only, event, Adler After Dark is Geek Chic themed! Costumes are encouraged, and the panel discussion will feature local comic creators. Tickets to this event can be purchased here: Adler Event Page
U.S. Spacewalk 52, NASA TV, Friday, March 22nd, 5:30-am-12pm CST
NASA Astronauts Anne McClain and Nick Hague will participate in a six and a half hour spacewalk, that will be broadcasted on NASA TV, to replace batteries and a solar panel on the International Space Station. You can tune into the spacewalk here: NASA TV
Breakfast with Jordan Reeves, Museum of Science and Industry, Saturday, March 23rd, 8-10 am

Chicago Society for Space Studies Meeting, Schaumburg Township District Library, Sunday, March 24th, 12:30 pm
