Winter is approaching, and that means new stars and constellations are beginning to rise in the night sky for you to learn about! There are plenty of opportunities to learn all about stargazing, how to use a telescope, and identifying what you see with the help of amateur and professional astronomers offering public observing sessions all over the city of Chicago and it's suburbs. Public Observing at the Dearborn Observatory, Friday, October 12th, 9-10 p.m.
Every Friday night the Dearborn Observatory at Northwestern University is open to the public for observing. Walk ins are welcome from 9-10 p.m. and opportunities to view through the telescope is first come, first served. Plan your visit here: Dearborn Observatory website
FPD Will County Stargazing Event with Naperville Astronomical Association, Friday, October 12th, 7-8:30 p.m.
The Naperville Astronomical Association will be at Prairie Bluff Preserve for telescope viewing and constellation and stargazing lessons. This event requires registration so be sure to plan ahead! You can find more details here: FPD of Will County website
Observatory Public Night with Naperville Astronomical Association, Saturday, October 13th, 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Skywatch & Star Party at Cernan Earth & Space Center, Saturday, October 13th, 7 p.m.
Every month Cernan Earth & Space hosts Skywatch where recent news in astronomy and space science are discussed. Immediately after the lecture a public star party takes place outside staff and volunteers from the Chicago Astronomical Society. Plan your trip here: Cernan website
Open House Chicago 2018, October 13-14
The Open House Chicago is a festival hosted by the Chicago Architectural Center and takes place in over 200 buildings in Chicago.
