Comb through the Chicago Tribune archives with the words 'NASA Apollo' in the search bar and you're going to stumble across some really incredible images.
Many of the Apollo 11 photos that made the headlines during and after the mission are iconic photographs, seen on front pages of newspapers around the world. But less than a month after their incredible mission to the Moon, the crew of Apollo 11- Edwin 'Buzz" Aldrin Jr., Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong- set out on a world tour that included a stop in Chicago.
These photos are from the Chicago Tribune archives taken August, 13, 1969, when Chicagoans came out to welcome and celebrate the crew of Apollo 11 and the first Moon landing.
