I cannot believe that I haven't written about this place yet. I even searched back all the way to Day 1 to double check. Nope. Maybe because it's one of my favorites I was leery of sharing! With its red checked tablecloths and incredible food, I must be talking about...
Danelli's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant.
Their menu is fairly limited, but they focus on making a few items incredibly well.
You can't go wrong with their pizza, but the lasagna is probably their most famous, we even catered it for Christmas Eve one year. Their lasagne is made with italian sausage instead of a meat sauce, and it's a huge portion. Which is good because you'll definitely want more of it the next day.
I also like their chicken parmesan because the chicken isn't breaded. Even though it certainly has it's fair share of delicious melted cheese, I feel like it's a little "healthier" without the breading.
Service is a little-slower paced, mainly because everything is made fresh & there's usually only one or two servers. So, relax with a cold beer or glass of wine, and share some quality time. In a place Danelli's size, you'll feel more like you're in grandma's home (if my grandma were Italian) than a restaurant anyway.
It won't take long to understand why they've been in business for around 30 years; you'll just wonder what took you so long to find them!
No website, but follow them on Facebook for a weekly free pizza contest!
