I love the idea of living at the lake house. Morning coffee on the porch, cocktails on the patio, waking up to the lake & cranberry bogs. And then I remember that the woods totally freak me out. I keep thinking that I'll stop expecting Michael Meyers to step in front of my car, but I always do. So, it must be damn good pizza that I'm willing to drive 15 minutes through the dark, winding woods for dinner!
Paul's Pizza Den is definitely worth the drive. Paul's is everything you expect pizza at the lake to be: wood decor, cold beer, stacked Bloody Mary bar, and delicious pizza.
My favorite pizza is their Hula Bear (Canadian bacon, pineapple, and extra cheese), and the kids, of course, can't leave without one of their sundaes for dessert. Looking for other options besides pizza? Their meatball calzone looks delicious, but you can also go with hoagies, burgers, or grilled chicken.
You can usually find Paul in the kitchen hand-tossing the pizza dough & cooking up a storm, while his wife Lisa handles the front of the house. So be sure to say hello.
While there haven't been Michael Myers sightings on the drive to Paul's Pizza Den, no guarantee you won't see bears or deer. Whatever you find along the way, it's certainly worth the drive.
