Tucked inside a non-descript strip mall you'll find a French bakery, a pizza place, a bar, and a hidden oasis. The recently opened Twist Yoga Lounge transforms your mind, and body, out of suburbia into your own personal zen.
If you've never thought of yoga as a workout, then you've never been to Twist Yoga Lounge. No need to hit the gym after this class! Yes, the room is heated, but not crazy hot like Bikram yoga. Considering the frigid "spring" weather we're having, the 88° room felt really good.
Three friends, all instructors, opened Twist Yoga Lounge earlier this month to a very warm welcome. They have a gift for helping attendees of all levels feel comfortable. It's not surprising that part of their philosophy is about creating a space "where people come to get inspired to move forward in their lives starting from where they are right now." It's not about being flexible or knowing the poses, but rather being open to an empowering mind, body, and spirit transformation.
Apparently my transformation is beginning in my butt and hamstrings- they're a little sore today. Despite not having worked out in- well, a really, really long time- I didn't leave yesterday's class feeling exhausted and achy. Instead, I felt re-energized and connected: to myself and my surroundings.
With a full schedule of classes: basics, power hour, twist & sculpt, unheated, and candlelight, you're bound to find something that interests you. There's even a kids' class and a Vinyasa & Vino beginning in April.
Since this is their grand opening month, there are several pricing specials good through the end of March. So, which class are you going to try first?!
