Day 64: A Glass of Wine please!

Today calls for a drink!  Whether you were stuck in traffic, shoveling the endless snow, or braving the sled hill, it's time for a glass of vino.  Scan your wine rack and you'll probably find bottles from California or Europe.  But, what if I told you that you could find great wine made here in Illinois?  Only thirty miles or so from Chicago, you'll find the Fox Valley Winery in Oswego.

Ok, the vineyards are actually in Sheridan, IL (open for weddings and events), but you only need to go as far as Oswego for a great bottle of wine and tastings.

Even though I'm more of a beer and tequila girl, Fox Valley Winery even has plenty of bottles that I've enjoyed!  Apparently I lean toward the sweeter options: their Blue, Sangria, and Vintage Zin are my favorites.

Fox Valley Winery also offers two wine clubs, sweet or dry, where you'll receive 1-2 bottles of wine every other month for around $20. Or, you can choose the quarterly club and get two bottles every three months. With any membership you'll also receive special offers on various bottles throughout the year.

Need a great gift? They're more than just wine here: various cheeses, gifts, and local artist works are available. You can also relax and enjoy their fireplaces, take a tour of the facility, or attend one of their many events.

New to the world of wine? This is a great place to learn. They're incredibly friendly, approachable, and truly care about finding something that you'll enjoy!
