5 Songs To Get You Into The Halloween Spirit

halloweenHalloween is just around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited.  Even though mother nature has been providing us with somewhat warmer weather then normal, the holiday is less than three weeks away.

Not only does Christmas possess great music, but so does Halloween.. and below are a few of my favorite songs that get me into the mood.. especially as it looms closer :)

1) Monster Mash

A classic song and one of the more known anthems of this beautiful holiday.  Quirky and timeless... you can't help but get into the groove of this infectious song from yesteryear :)

2) Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo

An 80s treat, not known as a Halloween song..but the song does reference an old short story called "The Bus-Conductor' about a hearse driver that says 'Room for one More' so for that reason.. it's one :)

3) Everyday is Halloween - Ministry

A little known 80s song, it's hypnotic and catchy.  A good combination of 80s synch and a dark vocal/lyric.. an early preview of what Marilyn Manson did in the 90s/2000s.

4) I Put a Spell on You - Hocus Pocus version

I couldn't put a list together without including this little gem from Hocus Pocus, the best Halloween kid movie from the 90s :)

And last and certainly not least...

5) Thriller -  Michael Jackson

You can't have a Halloween song list and not include this epic song.  Not only is the song epic, but so is the movie within a music video.

While there are other songs that capture the spirit of Halloween (including some great horror movie songs), these five songs are my top listens for the season of the Witch :)
