Governor Pat Quinn Signs Gun Registration Bill into Law

On Sunday August 18, 2013 Governor Pat Quinn visted Chicago Park District Nat King Cole Park to sign HB 1189 that amends the FOID Card Act. Firearm owners are now required to report lost or stolen firearms to their local law enforcement agency. The bill was sponsored by State Representatives Kwame Raoul and Mike Zalewski. Local politicians State Senators Donne Trotter, Jacqueline Collins,State Representative Elgie Sims and Brian Sleet of the 6th ward were all on hand. Community organization Presidents from Chatham Avalon Park Community Council, Park Manor Neighbors and Chesterfield Community Council were also in attendance.
