Over the last two years Black World Cinema at I.C.E. Chatham 14 theaters has showcased seldom seen classic features and new films from around the world. Black World Cinema presents films by filmmakers that bring us stories with compelling content and a human dimension seldom presented in mainstream cinema.
All screenings are followed by lively discussions moderated by program director Floyd Webb or local scholars, screenwriters and directors. The series has gained in popularity and now they are starting a new series
ShortCutzshort film series will bring support and recognition to a rich selection of short films, produced by diverse voices (filmmakers) committed to telling contemporary stories rooted in an African American perspective. The series will launch July 11 at ICE-Lawndale and ICE-Chatham July 12, 2012
The series will be interactive & competitive with audience members participating in a post-screening poll and nominating the best short. The winning filmmaker will be awarded a cash prize of $250.00.
