This Past Saturday In Chatham

This past Saturday, the Chatham community got a sneak peak at the new Thomas Wortham IV Playlot at  Cole Park.  Volunteers from Friends of the Park, Chicago Police Department, Gold Star Families, Wisconsin National Guard, Evergreen Park Police and Fire Departments, 6th Ward Alderman's office, Alderman Roderick Sawyer and community residents setup new equipment, laid sod and other prep work at the site. The $300,000 playlot was paid for by generous donations from Gold Star families, Police and Fire Departments from Chicago and Evergreen Park, Wisconsin National Guard  and community residents and friends. The new playlot  replaces a worn out lot that was well overdue for renovations. Several pieces of equipment and the water park are not complete, but from the pictures you can see it will be fun for children and children at heart.

Chatham Food Market had their annual holiday cookout in the parking lot of the store. This year they also had a blood drive as well. The music was going,  food and beverages were provided by vendors of Chatham Food Market. Everyone was having a good time before the rain came down.
