Bullying: In Schools, by the MSM, or Congress - What’s the Dang Difference?

Bullying is bullying no matter how you look at it, but where does it end?

Ever since Donald J. Trump declared he was going to run for President of the United States, he, and we have been subjected to all manner of bullying - and by adult “professionals,” to boot.

Now what does that tell you? Do as we adults say – not as we do?

Every negative comment or story the MSM spews against President Trump, his family, his team and friends is bullying. The #BoycottIvanka or #Boycott-anything-and-everything-you-don't-like-or-agree-with movements are ALL about bullying.

“It’s Free speech,” I hear you cry! But ask yourself where does “Free Speech” end and bullying begin?

Badmouthing is bullying. Or is it now actually considered “Free Speech?” Or is bullying OK as long as it’s directed at someone we don’t like – like, say, President Donald J. Trump?

Let's take school bullying, for instance. Certainly it MUST be stopped, but how do we teach our youth of today not to bully when everything they see and hear on TV or on line, every MSM news broadcast or publication, every award show, nighttime comedian, TV sitcom, SNL, the Hollywood Elite, musicians, and even the sports "celebrities" our kids look up to - badmouth and bully OUR President with impunity.

And take our “leaders” and legislators like Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Bill DeBlasio, Maxine Waters and the rest of their ilk – they do nothing but badmouth our President every chance they get. What’s a kid supposed to think or do?

What kind of example does that set? I have news for you: it sets a pretty piss-poor one.

These days, anyone and everyone with FaceBook, Twitter and YouTube accounts can have a go at trashing whoever they choose, but we ALL can learn a very valuable lesson from the kids and administration at Howard High School in Ellicott City, MD.

To quote Howard High School’s Principal, Nick Novak, he says, “they start their days off with a healthy dose of PRIDE – and that’s Punctuality, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Excellence. These are characteristics and traits that every student should be embracing and modeling in their daily lives.”

These are admirable characteristics we ALL should try to embrace and model in OUR daily lives – including all the aforementioned bullying haters above – especially and including our legislators.

Principal Novak further says, “These virtues help students battle bullying. Strategies can be as simple as encouraging students to say “Hello” to each other.”

ALL our legislators and the MSM should try to do the same.

You know how in church the priest, reverend or preacher asks everyone to extend their hand and shake the hands of everyone around them – saying, “Peace be with you?”

Well, can you picture every one of our legislators reaching across the aisle doing this every time they convene! Don’t laugh. It just might help make a huge difference.

Furthermore in this story, sophomore student, Emma Griffith, says, “People at Howard are more likely to be inclusive, to be able to talk to people, respect people in everybody in their class not just who’s their friends.”

“The study (in Pediatrics), “Ten-Year Trends in Bullying and Related Attitudes Among 4th – 12-Graders,” is based on following nearly 250,000 Maryland children grades 4 through 12 for 10 years.

Researchers found those who reported being victims decreased from 29% to 13%.

Back in 2005, 22% of kids being bullied were physically hit and 6% were being cyber-bullied.

By 2014, those numbers dropped to 5% and 4%.

Professor Catherine P. Bradshaw, PhD, MEd, at the University of Virginia co-authored the report and says, “We have a lot of work left to do. We don’t want to take our foot off the gas as it relates to focus on school climate and prevention and using evidence-based practices. So by no means is bullying checked off the list.”

Dr. John LaPook, CBS News Chief Medical Correspondent, who reported this story says, “Kids are encouraged to do something when they see it. That could be talking to an adult, comforting the victim, or making sure they don’t encourage the bully.” Easy to say, but we all know peer pressure makes it a bit difficult to do . . .

Now, how do we get the MSM to stick to the facts, stop their bullying, bias by omission and the rest of their “Fake News” issues and reports? How do we get everyone to get along and stop all this nonsense? How do we all help our President #MakeAmericaGreatAndSafeAgain?

I say, let these kids from Howard High School in Ellicott City, MD, show us how to handle these bigger bullies we come across every day.

What say you?
