While I wouldn't exactly say that I'm a hater of Grace Vanderwaal, let's just say that she so didn't deserve to win AGT and I, along with millions of AGT fans are very, very disappointed.
Further more, to say that Grace "stole both the judges' and Americans' hearts from the moment she hit the stage in auditions week, crushing the competition with her singing and ukulele skills," IS total bullshit. Little Boo crushed nothing of the sort when Nick Cannon announced that "barely only one percentage point separated the top three finalists." Where's the "crush" in that?
In no way was Grace a better singer than Brian Justin Crumb, nor the opera singing teen, Laura Bretan - who totally astonished the Italian pop singers Il Volo, nor Sal Valentinetti, nor The Clairvoyants, nor Sofie Dossie the contortionist, nor NFL player/magician Jon Dorenbos. These people were all far more talented than our little Gracie.
C'mon - the only way that kid won AGT was because she obviously got the tweens and teens vote. Just because you have to be 18 to vote - there's really no way to prove the age of any voters.
The other finalists all worked and prepared their entire lives for this chance only to have it snatched from their fingertips by a squeaky-voiced, kid who's only been playing the Uke one year! And to say she's gonna be the "the next Taylor Swift?" That's a real stretch. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how far this kid goes with a Vegas show, too.
And as far as winning $1 million dollars? Let's not count our chickens . . . anyone bother to read the fine print at the end of each show? It states: "The prize, which totals $1,000,000, is payable in a financial annuity over forty years, or the contestant may choose to receive the present cash value of such annuity."
Good luck Grace. You're gonna need it.
